Yes I think that’s a good idea and helpful. There isn’t a lot of people doing it and it would mean the first site that actively sells mobile themes….which would be good for TF.
The mobile world is completely different than the web. Thousands of devices that render HTML differently (You thought IE6 was bad), etc.
Getting in to mobile development is not for the faint of heart!
Themeforest could sell Joomla and Wordpress extensions as long as they were released under the GPL license. If TF doesn’t want to sell plugins under that license…then no…they couldn’t.
Here are some I’ve done recently (from static HTML to Joomla)
Also working on a joomla integration for this: http://themeforest.net/item/profi-admin-administration-for-the-professionals/49058
Will be done in a bit….top secret project…
I just realized I’ve converted 5 TF templates to Joomla, for clients, over the last several months and really think it’d be cool if a lot of these templates can be Joomla templates.
Anyone template devs interested?
I would say the image breaks their restructions. However, I disagree with the other statements. I’ve talked with the copyright department at Apple about this. If you read the copyright pages they have it’s pretty clear. You can’t use the image pretty much at all but using the words “iPhone” is not prohibited AS LONG AS you aren’t making it sound like it’s an Apple supported product.
Anyone have interest in letting me convert their themes they have on here into Joomla templates so they are made available to the community as well?
Not sure how it could work biz wise but we would need to work out something with the payments.
There are a lot of great themes on here that the Joomla community would dig if they were J! ready.
How about a place where users can show off how they used the templates? That or have a place to submit them and it could go on the TF blog?
Joomla’s template overrides are the best feature
