Congrats on your 666th post!
And yes, you are correct, this might be overused and restrictions would be required. Such restrictions could be:
- Authors who have sold over a certain amount can only use this feature
- Can only use 1 voucher at a time
- Can only use 1 voucher on 1 product, ever
I had an idea which could benefit Authors, Buyers and the Envato marketplaces… (apologies if this has already been discussed in the past)
It would be great if Authors could create voucher codes (or coupons) for individual items that they have uploaded. This would be a great way for authors to promote their own products and in turn the marketplaces too.
Obviously, Envato wouldn’t want to lose out on money, so the discount portion of the code would only affect the authors percentage. For example, if I had an item that is $30 and my commission rate is 50%, I could create a voucher code for this item up to 50% (nothing greater as that would eat into Envato’s share). So for this example, a voucher code of “25% off” would bring the product price down to $22.50, $15 still going to Envato and the remaining $7.50 going to me.
Does anyone else think this would be a good idea? Like I said, I think it would be a great way for Authors to self-promote their items from time to time, buyers get a discount and Envato gets the same deal as always.
Hope that makes sense!
It’s also worth noting that if you intend to use this on a page that you create for yourself (i.e. not a post page), then you also need to use wp_enqueue_media() to load the media editor scripts.
I got my shiny red paw! Woop!
Ive already started looking into FontAwesome which looks really good. What licenses are required when purchasing from Envato marketplaces when packaging the purchased item as part of a theme to re-sell?
I was just wondering what assets people tend to use when creating WordPress themes. For example, many themes have built in icons for use via shortcodes. What available resources are out there that can be used for commercial use?
Just need another $47 to make $1000! Woop!
Its the type of theme that I would look at and think “I doubt I can customise that much and other people will have it too”. When purchasing a theme, I try and see passed it’s initial presentation “to make it my own”. I can’t see how I would do that with yours. Sorry, just being honest. I think it’s too bespoke, if that makes sense!?
