Really having trouble letting it go, is it?
Even after that chopper/frame analogy being bang-on, i guess you did not understand it. A WordPress theme costs much more than 40 bucks for the developer to build. Period. Yet he sells it to a buyer hoping to make up in terms of volume.
That’s like Walmart. When you buy something from WALMART and it is as advertised, you know it’s going to break but you buy it because it is dirt cheap and you can buy another next time. You do not expect Walmart to replace your broken thing every time, do you? So you are telling you are against this policy similar to Walmart. But then you go to Walmart every single time to save the bucks
The support you are asking for is not obligatory, it’s like a favor! Most of the authors are nice guys to do that favor for good customer ties. But still, it’s a free addon and not actually included in the price!
@themethoft I appreciate your offer to check the issues of the theme. Although I am very sceptic about the future of this theme. If it is not maintained by the author will it stay working after WP 3.6 – 3.7 and 3.8 which will be launched this year. Or do I have to hire a developer to keep it working.
Therefore I did not update to 3.6 because on the portfolio of the author it only shows 3.5 as WP version.I will let you know if I accept your offer! Wish you good sales!
Here is another good discussion about why both sides have logic in their approach.
I believe that nothing in WordPress cannot be fixed with a few days of coding, because that’s why it was built in the first place, to be developer-friendly as well as user-friendly. Core functions might take longer to fix but themes should be a breeze. Provided they have been coded following the rule book of best practices and not like one of the monstrous ‘themelugins’.
So you just need to create the image assets and leave the animation effect to the developer. Or both the designer and developer can participate in deciding the animation style once the image assets are in place.
How do you guys snoop out your stuff in warez sites? Do you actively look for it or is it a luck by chance thing?
Did you go through the top selling themes in the Blog/Magazine Category?
I think there are many themes there better than either of these two sites. Please spend some time going through the top 25 at least. You will not be disappointed. If you are asking for an exact clone, I believe your post belongs in http://microlancer.com or http://freelancer.com
I am really stoked by your bad experience. Is it possible that you might be doing something wrong? Please set up a dummy site and give me login access, I really want to look what is the trouble you faced that the other 1000 buyers did not. Please use the submission form on my profile page to send the login credentials if you are ok with it.
Else tell me exactly what issue you faced with each theme you purchased.
I am afraid that you are way off. You need to step back and look at other templates which got approved recently. You will need more than crisp presentation and better photos at least to get just a “soft-rejection”. You need to narrow down your target focus.
My suggestion is forget this theme for a month and get started on next one. When you complete that, you can come back to this later with a fresh perspective. Wasting time on this one making small tweaks here and there is not worth it, I am telling you beforehand!
