At this time, no you can not use a graphic from Graphic River on a theme for sale at Theme Forest. When you purchase a graphic here you are licensed to use it once. Using the graphic for a theme that will sell multiple times would be the same as using it multiple times, or redistributing it.
I understand they are looking into other licensing possibilities in the future. So perhaps at some point you would be able to use Graphic River graphics in themes you plan to sell, but not at this time.
Your English on here is terrific! However, if I didn’t do well explaining the license terms, please let me know and I will or I’m sure someone will be happy to help!
You have a wonderful day too!
I’ve got another question regarding the exclusive program. I’ve searched for an answer and cannot find one. Please forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere.
If I get some illustrations approved here at GR am I permitted to use them (my own work) on a template at TF?
In other words is the exclusivity to each individual marketplace individually or Envato as a whole?
I use Xara (cause as awesome as Illustrator is, this illustrator is broke!) I really like the program and have a bunch of illustrations I’d love to try for approval.
Thing is, despite Xara’s claims I do know there can be compatibility issues. Certainly that isn’t going to fly.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could find out if my files would be compatible with Illustrator? I saved a couple of my files in .eps format, opened them with notepad and the first line says “PS-Adobe-3.0” which I understand is good but there can still be issues.
Aside from “don’t use gradients or similar effects” OR “save up your money and get Illustrator you Xara freak!” (hehe) does anyone have any advice?
Otherwise I’d better get my self cracking in Photoshop, yeah?
Thanks much, and loving the blue too!
eep, I should have added that I am using IETester and through that I was able to test DD_BelatedPNG fix on IE6 just fine.
@GeertDD , It’s amazing to me that you brought this up today. I came to this thread earlier today looking for advice on testing browsers. I installed Multiple IE this morning but I got an error when trying to run IE6 . Reading through the recent documentation I believe the problem might be due to a recent Windows update. (?)
I uninstalled the program and tried Jeffrey’s preference for DD_BelatedPNG fix and so far it’s working beautifully.
Weee! MMmmm yummy! Between Jeffrey’s jQuery series (we are seriously behind), his new php series (will NOT get behind), and Collis and Harley’s book we’ve been waiting for, we’ve got a lot to munch on!
Yay! Thanks so much for the heads up Jeffrey!
Thank you for your time as a reviewer, Justin.
This contest is very generous in rewards and we look forward to learning from the list of winners! I think this contest will be beneficial to everyone involved.
Looking forward to watching it all play out and best to all in contention!
Cheers everyone! We look forward to good things in the new year and wish you all the very same!
+1 @ what the OXYLUS Stock Team said as well. Thank you, thank you to those that have supported us by purchasing our themes, and the many that have contributed to Theme Forest in its first months!
Here’s to 2009 and new adventures!
Thanks xmdsys for starting such an uplfting thread. I enjoy reading the positive posts in this one ( and will be back to enjoy the love). I believe that TF and Enavato’s other sites provide multiple opportunities many of us need; who ever we are and what ever we’re looking for. We (personally) may not need the same thing as other members, but the brilliance of these sites is the plethora of opportunities to everyone who chooses to be involved. The Envato staff understands “stickiness” to a science. Many of us would love to be more involved, many of us are looking for something to round out income, and many of us are looking for quality in their own pursuits. So? Many of us keep coming back.
Major kudos to Jeffery for managing TF so beautifully, and for us personally thanks to TF and Envato for providing us with another opportunity to grow.
Aww poo for me. So many talented and interested individuals! It should be a nice gig!
(one half of us is full time freelancing, Photoshop phreak that I am, the other half brings in a regular pay check and codes when he can, and a good thing too!)
Best of luck to you all!
