Don’t make me wrong but if Stock footage files does not sell few times in 6 months, why not remove it from marketplace? Sooner or later you will have a hundreds of thousands items that has not been sold. You will have to pay for servers, new reviewers for something that does not sell. As i can see from time to time stock footage eats other items from front page. Probably also slowing down review time.
I had similar thoughts some time ago, but I assure you that the reasons for some footage to not sell can be numerous. What you suggest is not as straightforward as it seems. For example, I personally had already had many occurrences of (first) sale of a footage after many months, even yearS. Zero sales is not necessarily equalling to low quality or to the fact that it will never sell.
Since when? All of my video previews are shorter, 6-8 sec, because of the loading time.Unfortunately your submission Putting Sugar in a Cup of Espresso isn’t quite ready for VideoHive. Here’s some feedback from our Review team on why it couldn’t be accepted.
The length of the main file and the preview video does not match. Please correct the length of the preview.
And after my question I still got the same answer:The length of the main file and a preview should be the same. Please correct the preview video. Thank you. What is happening? I don’t want my previews to be the same length, it will only deter potential buyers because of longer loading time!
It’s the same rules for everybody. It has to be the same length exactly because you don’t want to deter potential buyers – they might want to see it ALL. Also, they might DOWNLOAD the preview video to test it in their final product before they decide whether it fits their project or not.
Also, video length doesn’t necessarily influence the loading time. Your video quality (ie. bitrate) does. Videos aren’t loaded in whole before they are played, they are buffered and shown little-by-little.
Just keep the previews the same duration as the video you sell and don’t worry
SpaceStockFootage saidlol The first hot shower I had after that was SOOO good Still have cold ones after exercise a few times a week though
MSFX saidHave hot showers and make use of the snooze button.
So, June…. what should I do?
Are you sure you should be taking a cold shower after the exercise, when your body is hot? It’s greater temperature shock than usual and definitely not good for the heart and whatnot…
Ontopic: I decided to start an experiment… it won’t be only one month – I think maybe 6 months for start – but I want to dramatically reduce sugar intake, so it means no desserts, sweets, chocolate, sodas and other canned/carton juices, no sweetened coffee/tea, etc, etc… I’ve always had that “little extra” of the body fat, so I wanna see how this will effect my body (in addition with exercises, but that’s not new resolution, ‘cause I’m doing it for quite some time now).
Does this count, or should I make some resolution which lasts only one month?
The thing is, I believe that Envato doesn’t care too much about the portfolios of individual authors. For example, for many months (maybe even years) many of us authors have requested some (seemingly minor but extremely needed) improvements to the portfolio page itself, like improved search and similar. All requests/suggestions have been completely ignored.
I came to believe that not many buyers are actually browsing our portfolios. But I/we can never know for sure, because only Envato has insight in traffic.
chiccosinalo saidThere already is an option for this. Go to your statement page, and click More Options, after doing so, click Today and select your desired time-frame, and then click All Transaction Types and select Sale. After that, click the search icon and there you have it! You’ll only see the sales!
thanks @greenline this dint work for me maybe because i am using safari browser. Would be nice if they made it simple like a tick button just there.
It does work indeed, but it’s only a temporary solution. Each time you visit the statement page, you’ll have to do this over and over again. I bookmarked page with these settings a long time ago, but still – that’s a hack, not an ‘elegant’ solution.
