I don’t know why but I kept thinking it was going to go on the home page in the new items list. That’s where my disappointment comes in. I had visions of AD site template thumbs landing on the TF home page when you click that sort button. I mean AD start the whole template biz for pete sake.
But I guess I should be grateful that now TF has 2 links to AD. The site switcher and the categories drop down. Yeah!
If you think about it, it’s not wordpressforest.. its themeforst.. and what is a theme? It’s a skin, it’s a template.. so Flash Site Templates belong there just as much as PSD templates. Also take into account how many Flash sites there are out there… or “website themes” I’m surprised Flash Themes aren’t there on the home page of TF.. there is only one reason why it’s not and that’s inter-marketplace competition… it’s all politics
the man probably had to take some heads for that link
just give him a break
Also while I’m here.
On GraphicRiver the home is broken up into so many categories.
All, Graphics, Print Templates, Textures, Vectors, Add-ons, Isolated Objects, Icons, Presentation Templates, Fonts, Web Elements,
Yet ActiveDen home is broken up into:
All, Flash, Flex, Unity 3D
When Flash is the biggest categories alone, and is probably the 2nd biggest selling category on the entire marketplace, yet it is not broken up into categories across the home.. why should non Flash, slow selling categories like Flex and Unity get so much preference over a category like Site Templates, or Galleries. Besides the fact those other categories aren’t even part of what this site was intended for… dum derum drum drum.. FLASH .
Seems like Flash and particularly Site templates, gets the raw deal yet again..
Food for thought
I can see it now, a solution to everything:
Only one marketplace, named Envato with the technology to provide the options to the user for what he wants to display on the main page(Flash recent files or, HTML files, audio files etc) Maybe start thinking about it?
