As a developer I wouldn’t trust someone who has a big internet explorer logo on their page.

They have a hosted service in the planning for this..

I was referring to self-hosted installers. They need a simpler install process than what they have now.

On the hosting service, I know they are already rolling it out to a few testers so it’s not long before it comes to life.

IE has come a long way. I wouldn’t hurry up to judge the latest versions based on the adversity I had for it back when I started working and IE 5, 5.5 and 6 made me lose sleep. :)

Considering that many front end developers have nightmares with internet explorer this might not be a very good way to attract them to their platform.

I know you were.. Wanted to point out that maybe a lot of the people who would need a self hosted installed might go with their hosted solution. Just an idea..

And then, they’d enter the Tumblr-ish realm. For now :)

I was pretty excited about Ghost but as soon as I’ve learned it’s based on node.js I thought “yep, that’s not gonna work”. Limited hosting solutions will be a big problem imho, I know PHP is not perfect but it’s available EVERYWHERE. And their own hosting solution is not a solution, it’s gonna be slightly more advanced tumblr.

But I might and I hope to be wrong ;)

No. I focus on CMS not blog platforms. I don’t find it interesting because I like to make experiments and exdend the software as much as I can.(ie. WordPress)

I think Ghost is too young to go premium on it. It should gain momentum and after that we will see. I don’t think that when WordPress first appeared everybody jumped on selling themes. The free ones were good enough (actually they still are for many out there).
