When a customer opens an account and starts buying Audio files, soon they will find authors that they like and want to remember.
So they start “following” the author.
But then if they follow 8 more, they now have lost track of the first author that they were following.
Of course there are other ways for a customer to remember an author: bookmark them, copy and paste etc. But I think AJ should make it easier for the customer to remember the author.
Keep track of all authors not just show the last 9 that you followed.
I think the main idea of the ‘follow’ concept on the Envato marketplaces is that new items of whoever you’ve followed, appear in the top right feed on the homepage.
However, this is still pretty limited, especially if someone you’re following has many items through at once. I completely agree that there could be so much versatility given to this aspect on the marketplaces, as social networking is an incredibly important aspect online. I’m in touch with a few Videohive authors on here, and having to keep going back to my email to dig up their names is pretty bothersome and not a particularly streamlined way of working.
Just a simple tab on our dashboards, listing all the people we follow should suffice in my opinion.
Good feedback, SP, thanks! It would be nice if there was a way to see a paginated list of all authors you follow and all authors that are following you too. The original purpose of the Follow feature however was so that whenever an author you follow releases a new file, it will display on the home page in the designated area (top right, above the Free File section). So technically it does not matter how many authors you follow or what order you followed them as their new files will appear on the home page. It’s not the most perfect solution, especially now where we have so many awesome authors that there are so many that we/customers all want to follow, but I thought I’d explain what the original concept was and how it still has some good use to some customers.
