Hey creative nation! it’s been a while, but I’m back.

I’m sorry the newbie question (please dont shoot me, lol).

I have this file vintage tileable backgrounds:

file

and I want to create a background for a website like this:

Website

and I have no idea how to make it. It’s something I usually have problems with my clients websites since I purchase templates here and I usually change backgrounds like every 2 months.

I know I have to make a small slice of the vintage background, but what I dont understand is how they add that shadow / overlay to the background and is still tileable. The file I got from GR has the ai pattern, which I can use to make the repeated .gif but it also has a shadow and there my problem.

Of course I can make a high res image and compress it a bit but I guess someone around here will slap me…lol

I will appreciate any help on this or resource / tut that can help me understand this.

Have an awesome day.

You don’t need to make high-res.
