I recommend look at Nexus 7 or 10, it’s is awesome. Probably because I prefer Android over iOS.
I have both and never used them lol . i call them the Idustcollectors lol
It’s interesting why such a lot of people recommend the smaller one.. So i guess it’s just what you’re looking for. They are basically the same, but one is smaller. I would suggest the normal one, just because of it’s size
And retina is awesome.. I mean, really awesome. Everything is much more smoother and sharper on it..
I wish not to buy any devices but buying them to test as a developer. Actually the time spent on testing is less than the time spent on researching what to buy
I know it is awkward to say here, but my point is we can live better without these devices we are literally burning the earth’s surface to manufacture these metal toys and to raise brand ego. The innovation is good but that doesn’t mean people can be indirectly forced to use their innovation. It actually became a global cult – all our minute-sophistication requires burning fuel and melting metals.
I believe around 70% of device purchases are happening even without necessity – so the confusion about selection/choice is inevitable.
In the post PC era (as Apple calls it), I think of it this way
iPad = laptop
iPad mini = netbook
A couple more points for your other questions. I have an iPhone 5 and I ony got the iPad mini. I can always tether my connection from the iPhone 5. Only install the apps you need. 16GB will be fine.
have both nexus 7 and ipad mini and the nexus 7 is the one i grab every time – just looks and feels nicer and is a heck of a lot cheaper!
The Ipad Mini is the best. I use it every time. And you will love it. Please don’t buy bad copies. maupa
Whatever you end up buying, the most important thing is to wait a few weeks since basically everyone will update their stuff pretty soon.
And no matter how great apple device x or android device y may be, its always crap compared to the shiny new one
