I just don’t understand thomas07… you seem so unhappy here, so why ARE you still here?
You can’t complain about sales percentage rates. You accepted the terms of becoming an author here. Morally you have a right to be consulted and discuss the terms if they change, but ultimately you signed up for the terms and legally accepted them.
I like your idea about promotion, but do we seriously have to keep returning to the same criticism about percentage rates every time?
yeah i know, and i answered so many times the same question you ask me on various other threads in the past, and i will answer you now again…go do your own thing mate, its not your business i do accept or not…not going to ask you to leave or to stay.
Regarding that you like the idea…well, then show it, go join the group and add some of your items…then i believe you.
About the same criticism for percentage rates…yes we have to, especially GR authors schould voice here as item prices are not in the same level as on the other marketplaces. This means to get your % rate increased, first you have to make $300K sales…now think again what are the possibilities for GR authors to reach this and come back here to discuss further if you wish!!
I happen to have opposite opinions to yours, I know… and yes you are right I do antagonize you. I guess I can’t help it.
I don’t want to join in the Flickr promotions. Firstly because as Arik pointed out it is against the terms of Flickr, and secondly I don’t have a desire to have to manage it. I don’t see the potential personally for a return of investment that makes it worth my time. Good luck with it though.
You don’t have to make $300k of sales to go up in percentage. $300k is just for 70%.
The content on GR is much less specialised to produce than the content on some of the other marketplaces (I accept that yes this is a fairly sweeping generalisation), so of course it will be harder to reach that 70%. The market is also saturated with graphics / stock photos / vectors with other competing marketplaces and this drives prices down here at GR.
definitely, and this is why envato schoult redo the GR authors terms. We agree to terms which actually doesnt match very well and are not fair compared to the other envato’s marketplaces and author’s benefits. This things actually was discussed many times on other threads realted to such issues and i am not willing to chanage the topic of this thread now.
You have your valid reasons to not become a part of the flickr group and the other things…well, what for are you then here on this thread, to break and downgread other people’s morale? If you want to join and have some ideas for progress you are welcome…if not, then good luck to you too..cant see a reason for you to waste your so much valuable time typing here.
I won’t continue arguing, this is clearly pointless. A contradiction doesn’t make sense to begin with, so you are right I am wasting my time.
Thanks for your understanding, much appreciated.
Hey…haven’t read the whole tread but I see % comission rates are discussed on this particular page.
I’m at %42 right now…commission rates are increased each time a certain sales threshold is passed.
This means that you won’t have %40 commission all the way through the point where you sell $300k worth of stuff. The jump from %40 to %70 won’t be abrupt, you’ll get there in steps instead.
To be honest, I’m happy so far. There are many things that we sometimes take for granted here at ThemeForest. They have the reviewers team, a legal team, a support team, marketing team and so on.
If I were, for instance, to start my own theme site, there’s no way in hell I’d be able to do all the above by myself and still be able to keep the same revenue amount. I’d have to hire other people, increase prices for the theme and invest in a considerable marketing budget.
For instance, during the time my theme was on the front page for the previous 4 days, I’ve received over 2000 uniques from ThemeForest.
Some of them purchased immediately, some I’m sure have bookmarked the theme and will purchase in the future.
I had doubts at first, but now I think the money TF keeps from our sales is well worth it.
yeah we have an “40%-70%” banner here on the left side of the page and we all can see it and the steps…thought, the thing we discuss and the topic is not exactly about this.
Now i don’t flickr my items, because some peoples are stolen my works on flickr.
