Possibly is a mess but i just want you opinion, i came a cross this plugin which was used at the give away new theme on nettuts, and was using this nice slider, roundabout, where some effects from easing plugin were used as well, i was just experimenting around and i included also parallax plugin and i came up with this thing, let me know what do you think!

Hi Katro,

Good job, it looks nice, but I’m not sure how useful it would be for Web Designers/Developers because it seems to take up a lot of resources to run, and subsequently slows down the website quite a bit, increasing the probability of users bouncing.

I love the idea though, keep up the good work! :)

Yea, that slider is pretty cool. I’m actually using it on one of my upcoming themes too.

Nice what you’ve done with it.

It’s cool, but it was a little difficult figuring out how to control it.

It adds to the cool factor, but the usability isn’t great, doesn’t work in IE7 or below and is a mess if JavaScript is turned off.

This is just me, but i would avoid it.

The Aurelius theme given away on nettuts was actually mine =) Glad it’s inspired some of you to get creative with the slider.

Anyways as for you’re experiment, I like where you’re going, but I think the image are tilted too much, some of them I find I get too distracted by the background because it’s bigger than the picture itself.

humble much?... :P

@katro It has a slight “neat-o” factor… yet it seems rather slow and once the design starts interfering with the UI/UX… then you no longer have a website, you have a jittery piece of art…

not saying you can’t still hammer it out though… :)

@QwibbleDesigns that’s the best practical implementation of the roundabout hat I have seen since I saw the plugin.

I like the idea for this, but I think you’re safer sticking to what the free template had because that was so much easier to use. Any more than 3 items can look odd.

I hope you do carry on with this theme though because I’m getting bored of the cookie cutter sliders that we’re seeing, it’s time for some innovation.

In my opinion, the best sliders are the roundabout – if properly used, and the one used on the Innovation theme – I really love that slider it’s awesome.
