So for now it looks like only 4 authors switched to GPL from which one is woothemes, and one is the guy who started this revolution (Jake). It’s pretty uncommon for Envato to provide a new feature so fast for such a small audience so I hope it’s a new start for all the changes the army of fellow authors asked for years now.

This is rare/quick implementation considering how long it took for other improvements but worth at this time. It is not about how many buyers purchase or how many authors sell full gpl; it is about making sure WP’s guidelines followed – being a big player in the specific industry to avoid becoming #1 bad example.

Btw, don’t dream about Developer license although the survey included questions related that. We not even got shared about survey results of Developer license :P

Hey Guys and Gals,

I now it’s been a while (like six months) but I just stumbled upon a work around to search for 100% GPL Themes On ThemeForest. If you copy and paste [ site:http://themeforest.net/item This item is licensed 100% GPL ] into Google’s search and hit enter, I found it works alright. Courtesy of this site .

I hope that helps a little.

We’re working on better ways to search attributes on the marketplace sites right now. I’ll make sure we look at an option for searching on GPL too.
