When I was young, the only “wireless” around, was a radio. Fizzbombs Opal Fruits and BlackJacks were our diet. You could run and jump onto moving Buses. Unleaded fuel hadnt been invented. Colour TV’s weighed 500kilos for a 16 inch portable !
Argos was your xmas present destination. All the villains in tv programmes had sideburns. Ford Capris were classed as “fast and sleek”
School holidays seemed to last for 6 months. Wearing your shirt outside of your trousers/shorts was considered un kempt Gillette razors only had One blade ! and that was blunt
Beer was warmer than your kebab ! Spain spoke spanish and spend Pesetas
A lot of the eastern block countires didnt have pronounceable names Men wore more hairspray in the hair than women Tonics, Spoons and Harringtons were fashionable
BBC2 was reserved for Open University, and BBC BASIC programs Ferguson Videostars had brighter lights than escort mexicos in the lombard rac rally night trials

Thankyou for reminding me of my yester years! Oh, yes, I do fondly remember those Blackjacks and the candybags. Travelling on buses to the main city center cost 2 pence to five pence back then. Woolworths was our ‘destination’ for Xmas pressies. A trolly full to the brim of groceries cost £5.
My karate instructor had sideburns. My late father was the first to own VCR in his town, it cost £700, a small fortune to pay back then. He brought me a Commodore 64. Holiday term during summer did indeed seem like a long time.
