I am not an expert with flash.
I want to know how to take text to the next line with actionscript 2.0
e.g. Twinkle twinkle little star
      how i wonder what you are

I want the line “how I wonder what you are” to come to next line below the first line . i want to write the poem through actionscript by creating textfield.

do anyone help me?

make it a htmlText field and use this code…

The problem is that he’s trying to force the new line to start before it reaches the end of the text box.

Without html text all he needs is to add \n in the texts… + multiline enabled…

another way to do it is to put your field “multiline”, then write it like this

myText.text = "this is my first line" + newline + "this is my line number 2";

or 

myText.text = "this is my first line";
myText.text += newline;
myText.text += "this is my line number 2";
