Today I have started thread about offering rights for my latest item. After I bumped it, the thread was disabled.
What is wrong with such kind of thread in the eyes of Envato staff? Did I miss some changing of rules?
Selling the rights means that somebody will eventually turn that item into a WP theme and (hopefully) makes some profit for both him and Envato so I really don’t understand what is wrong about that.
Thanks for answer. And is it allowed to add the info about selling rights to item’s description?
So, if I do want to sell rights, I have to wait for someone who will find my item by himself and will try his luck by asking me if it is for sale?:)
That’s unfair because many people have sold their rights before, just by using this forums.
What about the partnership offers or selling the rights in the same thread? For example I say: I’m looking for a partner to code my PSD template, or sell the rights for someone to code and publish on TF exclusively (If I don’t find an appropriate partner), will that thread be deleted?
Please do get in touch if you have some rights for sale – I’m always on the lookout
There were a couple of “selling rights” threads in the past and that’s why I was suprised that it is not allowed anymore (or never was).
I understand the “no self-promotion” point, but at the other hand, those “why is my item rejected” threads are not considered self-pomotion? I definitely have nothing against those threads, they are vital part of the forum.
@DistinctiveThemes I have sent you a PM
Yes it’s something we’re being much more strict with lately. This is particularly the case with those looking to sell their items already available on the Marketplace, as trying to do that comes with a huge warning – http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/245
You’re welcome to look for partnerships on the forums if you like, but the forums are not to be used as a place to sell your goods or rights to your items.
