Hi. I’m starting a project with a couple friends, and one of us is going to take care about the online communication strategies & social networks. Can you recommend some interesting books (or blogs/readings) about it?
NOT kind of “Social network for dummies” or something focused on “how to” processes.
Just interesting books to apply marketing strategies to social networks, intermediate / advanced level.
Thanks in advance!
I would be interested in this too, let me know if you find anything useful.
I’ll search for more

Maybe is bit “technical”, but will download to check it out. I’m more looking for conceptual readings. I think it will be easier if i place some examples:
When I need a book I first look at the Rockable Press.http://rockablepress.com/books/successful-facebook-marketing
I love them
Guy Kawasaki’s Enchantment book is good for overall branding that can easily be applied to social media. And his What the Plus! book is all about what he likes about Google+. You may not agree with everything in it, but it’s worth a read. Guy has a good take on what it means to be interesting and genuine while still marketing your brand.
SitePoint’s Online Marketing Inside Out is getting a little long in the tooth now (Published 2009), but it has good sections on marketing through social media.
Although it speaks mostly to general business marketing, you can’t go wrong with the overall message of Duct Tape Marketing.
There’s a lot more out there, but I can only speak to the ones I’ve read personally. Hope that helps
Great links KingDog, thank you very much!
And thanks to everyone else, great help!
A great book with some general principles (if you’ve not yet read it)
‘Don’t make me think’
Blogs with some insights (not books, but maybe you could harvest soemthing useful from these):
Social Media Examiner
and from the great google:
‘Think with Google Insights’
‘Google trends’ a search engine that gives you data on current trends
