Whatever you do, make sure it has a speedy SSD inside. The Samsung 830 series are supposedly one of the best price & speed combo-wise.
On another note, I love my early-2011 MacBook Pro. Sadly, the Airs’ displays aren’t nearly the same quality (resolution is the same but color quality is comparatively poor) so I probably won’t be picking one of those up anytime soon. The best thing I have ever done to it was put a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD in there which was once one of the fastest SSD ’s. Once you go SSD , you never go back.
I have that rare 17” too, and I love it! I was pretty disappointed when I saw they stopped making it…
Go for Air – slightly slower CPU is nothing compared to size, weight, SSD and (IMO) slightly better display
I just purchased the top-of-the-line Air a few weeks ago, and I have got to say that I will never go back to a Pro again, at least not until the have the same form factor as the Air. The size, weight (or lack thereof), and the shape of the Air make it exponentially more comfortable to use.
Purchased both an Air and a Retina Pro and honestly the Air is my favourite for the same reasons.
I don’t know. Macbook Air 13” or Macbook Pro 15”? I can’t decide. I use Photoshop and normal Webdeveloper programms like Sublime and so on. So can the Air handle it?
I greatly enjoy the mix of desktop (with an attached cheapskate 22” HKC ) and laptop that the Macbook Pro 13” offers! It’s both portable and powerful, which is exactly what I need as an IT student who spends too much time in the trains
It’s all a matter of what you’re going to use it for
