Hi! My Shopify Template was rejected for this reason:

I think this template still needs a bit of work before being accepted on ThemeForest. My primary issue is with the the navigation area – it seems unprofessional. As I’m sure you know, with e-commerce templates, it’s extremely important that they look as professional as possible. I’m not seeing that here. Consider revising the entire navigation section, and a few other areas that are coming up short.

Could someone give me advices how to improve it? Do I need to think about complete navigation redesign? All comments are appreciated!

To be honest – i’m not sure as to what you are to improve. It looks pretty good as it is.

If anything i would move the nav under the header as it’s a bit more obvious as a nav there and not a sidebar like item.

Note how this template doesn’t scream “e-commerce.”

I’d agree. It looks rather like portfolio site, but a nice one.

I would agree that it looks pretty good, but you may want to move the navigation so it’s a bit more obvious. Navigation in the sidebar like that is usually reserved for subpages and not the main nav.

Good luck!

It still doesnt look like there is anything to buy/sell from the front page. I suggest adding some products to the front page along with prices so its more obvious its an ecommerce template.

A couple of things:

1) I still don’t think the navigation section is in the right place.

2) As I stated last week, this template doesn’t scream “ecommerce”. Take ThemeForest, for example; the front page is covered with items – not long paragraphs of text that people won’t read.

Pay attention to popular e-commerce sites – specifically the home page.

Yeah I would have to completely agree with Jeffrey on this one. It doesn’t feel like a store at all.

I don’t know about everyone else here but I like the modified version. It may not “scream ecommerce” as Jeffrey mentioned but based on aesthetics and functionality, I believe it deserves a chance. At least it’s something different than a traditional ecommerce site and people might go for this look. Just my two cents.
