What hardware mostly determines the compile speed of a swf?
If you forgot about non-adobe compilers and other optimization for a second, what raw hardware would you throw at it to solve the problem?
Memory size, speed, cas latency? Or perhaps more CPU cores, higher clock speed or bigger cache?
There’s also this Nvidia Tesla beast that’s meant to improve pure computing speed.
Many think swf optimization like speed rendering can be adjust be 3 party software (you can’t say hardware cos` each machine are not that same in ram cpu atc )`.
True swf optimization speed, low cpu, memory, good rendering is in the hand of the developer coding simple as that …… so the only way to speed complex swf performance is in the hand of the of the one who make it …..
For speed testing there are many… I always say this is something subjective base on your need just look at all tween engine performance each maker say his one is the better .
tsafi saidhe’s talking about compile time not swf performances…. winner is: cpu.
Yeah, Bitfade’s right. The compiling of an SWF is a process that’s limited by the speed of your CPU . It can also influenced by the amount of memory available (if your RAM is always filled to the top, consider upgrading), but it’s mostly the CPU that could be limiting it. If you experience slow SWF -compiling, make sure it’s for other files as well. If you’re going to compile a 200MB .fla file, it’ll take a while on any (regular) computer. Can you describe the situation during which you’re running into problems?
Can you describe the situation during which you’re running into problems?
Nope, simply asking because I’m putting together a new computer.Probably going with the standard i7 2600k and then clock it up a bit.
Then you really, REALLY don’t have to worry about the SWF compile times
i must add, if your project is actionscript based (external classes/resources, no timeline stuff), you can really fly using adobe flex sdk (free download) with fcsh.
about 50x faster compilation time compared to Flash IDE .
but still, adobe compilers sucks.
