OK, I’ve thought about how I’m going to start. So I thought better start off small first.
My first initial idea is to create a little graphic to sell on graphic river. I’ve pinpointed some of the things which seem to be selling well and I don’t think this has been done, or sold here before.
I’m slightly unsure if this comes under branding but I don’t think it is so I hope I will be fine.
My idea is to create a small simple 3D graphic of the html5 and css3 logo to sell as a transparent .png or jpeg. I hope this will be quite desirable.
Will post up my design for critique later today. Thanks.
I’m not sure I underrstand this right, but I’m not sure you’re allowed to sell “your version” of someone elese’s logo?
Really, but what about this:http://graphicriver.net/item/11-social-media-illustrations/1355477?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=themedia
They have all the social media symbols there. I’m using the html 5 and css3 one. Is this not allowed then? Before I start.
And according to thishttp://www.w3.org/html/logo/faq.html#how-licenced
it is licenced under the creative commons act
Hmm, you may be right. Maybe someone in an official capacity could reply to this. The item you point out seems to be a 3-D icon set which then any logo can be applied to.
You on the contrary take logo and create a 3-D version of it and then sell it (at least that’s how I understood it). That would be like taking the YouTube logo, creating an icon, and selling it.
I think there’s a difference, but I may be wrong. It may be worth your while clarifying before starting though.
OK, can a mod or member of staff please clarify this?
Ok basically here is how it works…if you do take the HTML5 and CSS3 logo…and make it 3D or something, you can sell it.
If you take it, and modify it, lets say changing it’s colors, maybe the shape a little bit, etc…you’re not allowed to do so.
Cool, I’ll give it a go. May not even get approved… but need to start somewhere.
Ok, my first idea concept…
Coming next 3D setup. I don’t want any clutter, I want the studio setup to be crisp and white. I was also thinking putting it in a box and have a shelf above… But will how how first lighting tests goes.
BTW gotta love MS paint!
