Hey all!

This tool will attempt to translate my item into another language. However I don’t think it is very accurate. It might be a good starting point, but I think some manual modifications would still be necessary.

So can anyone who speaks another language do a quick test of this language translation tool? Just hit translate to your native language and have a quick look through to see if it is kinda accurate or completely off (don’t check every word! there is over 1000!) .

Let me know how you go!

Cheers,

Hey,

After a quick look, it seems that most of the translated words are fine except a few ones. ‘Wed’ for wednesday is translated as ‘marry’ in french :)

I’d say that roughly 70% of the content is ready to be used, 20% would need some adjustments and 10% should be rewritten. But it’s just a quick estimation.

Tested for croatian language.

I would say around 30% is ready to be used, 50% needs a little correction and 20% is garbage :)

Most issues happen because in croatian language adjectives are not the same for every gender. In english, you would say:
  • A rich man
  • A rich woman
but in croatian:
  • Bogat muškarac
  • Bogata žena

I just looked at the dutch translations and it looks good but it needs improvement. Sometimes there isn’t even a translation like ‘In Progress’. Others like ‘- (Gelieve antwoord boven deze lijn) ’ is more something like ‘Antwoord a.u.b. boven deze lijn’. Tough this look weird in dutch (deze lijn = this line). I would assume you ‘Antwoord a.u.b. hierboven’. This is something like ‘Please answere above’.

So I should say for small words it works for 90 % but for sentences it is rather 30 à 40%.

It’s really helpful for translating. Some statement are not good for example “save” is translated to rescue, “Jan” is translated as a person name. I guess 60% of translation is acceptable.
