Hello all. Lately, I’ve been thinking of doing some tutorial videos on some music stuff. I was wondering if any of you can suggest some good video screen capturing software. I’ve googled it and found tons of websites with them, but I just want to make sure that some of them are trusted.

So, if any of you have one that you currently use or know of a good one, please let me know :) Many thanks in advance :D

Regards,

- Derek

I’ve always heard Camtasia Studio is the best screen recorder. I don’t have it, but you can try it out!

Yes, I use Camtasia Studio and it is definitely the best I have used. They offer both free and paid versions of desktop recording software, each with its own perks. Camtasia seemed to offer the most features which is why I believe its the best, but I could be wrong….

Alrighty, thanks guys. I’ll check it out :) I appreciate the help with it. I just wasn’t sure what could be trusted and what is legit. There’s a lot of scam sites out there now a days unfortunatly.

If anyone else has any suggestions, keep them coming :)

Hey Derek, Are you on a Mac or a PC? You can record screencasts directly in Mac OS X through QuickTime. I use Snapz Pro X. There’s a great round up of many more screen recording apps/tools on Mac.AppStorm:

http://mac.appstorm.net/roundups/utilities-roundups/10-screen-recording-tools-for-mac/

Or, my final recommendation is to use screenr, a free online tool.

Finally, don’t forget that you can now sell your audio/music tutorials on our Tuts+ marketplace! Good luck! :)

Thanks Scott :)

I have a PC. I checked out Camtasia but I didn’t see a free version of it. Only a 200/300$ one. That’s a bit steep for me, just for making a few tutorials.

I’m not sure if I’ll make them for Tuts+ just yet. I mainly wanted to make some for a friend of mine just getting started with music production. Pretty much cover some of the basics and go over Fl Studio with them :P

If you know of any others that would be good to look into, let me know! :)

Thanks agian!
