I’ve tried several different things, but none work perfectly. Right now I’m using UnitPNG… which works… terribly.
What do you use, if you don’t mind sharing? I’m sick of trying to please IE6 , wasting countless hours.
Here’s some good ways: http://net.tutsplus.com/videos/screencasts/5-easy-ways-to-tackle-ie6s-transparency-issues/
if you have firework export your png files as png 8 – no fix needed.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
@Jonathan: Does PNG -8 support transparency?
Sure does – but again this needs to be done in Adobe Fireworks – here is a video and article:
Actually you don’t need fireworks according to this guy:
Hope this helps
I have Fireworks, so it’s cool. I’ll keep this in mind for my next theme. Thanks man.
Oh man, life would be sooooo much easier if all copies of IE6 just self-destructed and the name was erased from history. It’s such a pain in the ass.
Edit: Ohhhh, you didn’t mention there was a catch. PNG -8 is limited to 256 colors… which is more or less a problem. It’s still a good tool to know, because most of my transparent images are low in colors.
