Would love to see some buyer interviews from the AudioJungle/VideoHive section since they often go hand in hand.
This interview was still interesting. Always interesting to see how a buyer thinks when approaching the marketplace.
I just wanted to point out that not every buyer is looking for items with the highest number of sales….
I recently had a client (a big, important hotel network) who wanted from videohive an intro/showcase with lowest sales possible. He wanted to show that video clip in an international touristic showroom, so he wanted to make sure that he will show unique content, to prevent showing the same video as his competitors.
I managed to find a wonderful showcase template with these requirements (low sales), but this makes me think why buyers cannot buy exclusive templates here. That client wanted to buy an exclusive license of that item, but that was not possible too bad.
@greenline, hush that’s also my method don’t give away our secrets
Nice Buyer and awesome interview
Nice interview, but I have to point out that the current best sellers kind of discredit those claims, since all have “generic” hover cover.
And I still think that sales are nb. 1 reason for deciding and of course once you are in top 10 you get tons of exposure elsewhere, envato it self is promoting those item as “check out our best themes”
It would be cool to put together a cool poll and get a bigger pool of results now that would bring some interesting results.
Never the less interview got me thinking on some other stuff.
It is a nice interview – I mentioned in another post the “reasons” for buying, the “how” people buy and the process really comes down to the individual though and especially their knowledge and experience of both design, build and the marketplace here. In my opinion at least!
Still an interesting viewpoint from the interview
Nice interview, we like more buyer interview.
My inclination goes towards functionality, and the author’s reputation: their eagerness to help and respond to customers, and their feedback in general.
I love these purchasers that choose their items wisely
Thanks for the interview.
My inclination goes towards functionality, and the author’s reputation: their eagerness to help and respond to customers, and their feedback in general. If I see one author who hasn’t responded to customers in days, and can only bother to send me to his personal support page, and another that replies to enquiries from customers, I will give that second author more of a chance. Buyers like to be treated with respect, not blown off.
