@NovakZvaniNovak: Hey no mate – I don’t have that much money to buy Envato
But sounds good, a? Envato was/is great idean on right place at right time. Some ex authors tried to do the same, some of them offered me 60% on start, but I think this is pretty much great place to be. However, this is still my hobby…
What if Envato founders get a good deal and sell their startup which is the entire brand of Envato? That would mean we all theme designers etc would be doomed, right? Especially those who have sinked in both their feet into making themes full time on themeforest!
If an internet company / investment venture acquired this marketplace, then they must have made research thoroughly and have calculated all business aspects of Envato. Chances Envato’s core business value as a big template marketplace will be retained.
When Behance acquired by Adobe, members’ design portfolios are still there.
Maybe theme designers should think more about will their themes sold (rather than think will Envato be sold to third party). It’s just too far.
IndeedEdit: That’s odd. Why is my reply here? Did I go back in the past without knowing it? If that’s the case I certainly wasted a time travel opportunity. I don’t even own a DeLorean.
If you look at the main page, it looks like time is running backwards on the forums!
Doomed? Could be the other way around and actually see some of the changes that have been requested over the last couple years:-).
They have to be crazy to sell envato, envato is growing hard!
Oh and also, even when it is sold to anyone, why should the authors be doomed. We are the reason why these sites make money, even under another headquarter we will be the only reason why people spend money here.
But sometimes companies buy other companies in order to eliminate the competition. Buying and then getting rid of the Envato marketplaces would drive business from these marketplaces to their marketplaces…
Noooooo… don’t say that With increasing popularity i doubt Envato will go down/sold.
