Dear Reviewers! I’m with envato for about 2 years and for the past year I’m facing the same problem while submitting my wp themes. The problem is always the same – soft rejection, the reason: - you can’t use it (though it was used a month ago in the previous theme and others still use it) - you are not allowed (though got no official notice about it) - you should update (standard response from reviewers team, not my theme related)
I’m sure you work hard in order to keep the product quality on TF but I’m also sure you have to respect the authors who work hard either on creating that quality stuff.
I worked on my new theme for a month and now I got soft rejected because of timthumb, google api and minor changes. And what I have now, 2 days to check the theme => now it is soft rejected => do not know what to use for timthumb alternative (there is no official notice what is allowed now) = > one more week to make the changes to the theme I do not visit TF forum daily that’s why I can’t get the fresh info about the changes, most of them are posted by the authors not the reviewers.
The only thing I need and I’m sure all the authors: - technical requirements to the wp themes (I’m sure you have them but not public) - the upcoming changes/updates (official notices)
Thanks for understanding.
I guess the best thing to do is that Envato would provide a page available to authors, where authors can contribute/update a list with requirements, kinda of using the collecting knowledge of authors based on their experience with the review process.
I completely agree with that, list of technical requirements will not only save authors time, but it’ll also save reviewers time. Cheers.
kotofey saidYes, I know about those scripts, but the thing is whether they will be accepted as an alternative. There is no official response from the reviewers, that’s why I do not wish the spend the time on its integration and in result to get soft rejected again because they do not meet some product requirements
Hey mad_dog, I hope it will help: Freshsizer, Aqua Resizer, mr-image-resize
Yep, we need an updated list of the changes required by reviewers. Mind boggling there isn’t something already!
