Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

After updating to new theme version 2.0 my portfolio items has disappeared

The theme version 2.0 now supports the new blog layout.

Because of that the portfolio items has been shifted to new system named “Portfolio” found in the Wordpress dashboard menu below “Posts”.

If you’re not seeing “Portfolio” menu item (left side) in your dashboard then this mean the plugin “Syntac custom posts” is not yet installed on your blog. To install the plugin you need to go to “Appearance” >> “Install plugins” >> “And install Syntac custom posts”.

So now “BLOG” uses the posting system that was earlier used for creating Portfolio items and portfolio items have been shifted to new system “PORTFOLIO”. In portfolio “skills” behave as “categories” in posts.

So you can use the plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/ to shift your Portfolio items to new Portfolio system. This plugin takes seconds to shift the items.

To shift “portfolio items” to new system “Portfolio” follow these step:-

1. Login to your wordpress dashboard and open “Posts” 2. Now select all the “Posts” and in “Bulk actions” (Top) select edit and click “Apply” 3. Now you’ll see and option named “Post type”, open and select “Portfolio” 4. Select “Update” and you’re items have been shifted.

Note – Unfortunately, you will be required to add skills again for the portfolio items as they can’t be shifted.

Text description on pages gets cut off to certain characters

The text being cut is actually a feature of this theme. To make the text appear complete there is another section named “Enter short description here” below the editor of whatever page you’re editing.

If any text is entered to that section not only it will replace the text entered in the editor but it will also appear complete.

Also this section is not like editor so you’ll need to add HTML tags to style the text made visible through this section
