Hi How would I add another Social Media icon – Instagram. I’m new to both Wordpress and ViewPoint so any help appreciated! Trevor

Sorry- disregard – just found the other posts about Insta….

Hi I’m changing the contact form a bit and have added a checkbox control that defaults to checked with a value of 1. When I submit the form I get the email but the value isn’t passed. I have changed the form in index.php and the functions.php. The changed function teo_contact_form is shown below and below that is the changed code in index.php Should this work? What have I missed!

Thanks Trevor

function teo_contact_form() { // get the submitted parameters $viewpoint = get_option(‘viewpoint’); $name = esc_html($_POST[‘name’]); $email = esc_html($_POST[‘email’]); $comment = esc_html($_POST[‘comment’]); $signup = esc_html($_POST[‘signup’]); $msg = esc_attr(‘Name: ’, ‘ViewPoint’) . $name . PHP_EOL; $msg .= esc_attr(‘E-mail: ’, ‘ViewPoint’) . $email . PHP_EOL; $msg .= esc_attr(‘Message: ’, ‘ViewPoint’) . $comment . PHP_EOL; $msg .= esc_attr(‘Signup: ’, ‘ViewPoint’) . $signup; $to = $viewpoint[‘email’]; $sitename = get_bloginfo(‘name’); $subject = ‘[’ . $sitename . ‘]’ . ’ New Message via the website’; $headers = ‘From: ’ . $name . ’ <’ . $email . ’>’ . PHP_EOL; wp_mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers);

<form method="post" action="">

<?php _e('name', 'ViewPoint');?>

<input type="text" name="name" class="text" /> </form>

<?php _e('email', 'ViewPoint');?>

<input type="text" name="email" class="text" id="email" />

<?php _e('message', 'ViewPoint');?>

<textarea name=”comment” class=”text”></textarea>

<input name=”signup” type=”checkbox” id=”signup” value=”1” checked=”checked” /><?php _e(‘sign me up for special offers & new product info!’, ‘ViewPoint’);?>

<input type=”submit” name=”submit” id=”submit” value=”<?php _e(‘send’, ‘ViewPoint’);?>” class=”submit-button” />

Hello, unfortunately I can’t provide support for customization, I’d suggest using the contact form 7 plugin and the integration of the theme with that plugin if you want to add custom fields to the form

No worries – thanks for the guidance….

Again, I’d suggest using Contact form 7 as it’s already integrated and has most of the options you may need. :) If not, use another plugin rather than hard-coding everything by yourself.

Hi, A few questions in regards to this website I am working on at the moment:

- how can I make the header responsive for mobile? At the moment it gets all squashed and cut off.

- how can I make the navigation mobile-friendly? Is there a way to have the mobile menu button instead?

- when I link to a seperate page (such as a Shipping Policy), is there a way to have this page not to have the full height header?

- Do you know why when I add Woocommerce, the lightbox functionality is removed from my NextGen gallery? I will use another shopping cart if needed, but just wondered if this has been flagged on this theme before.

1) The background image ratio for normal tablet or desktop devices is somewhere around 2:1 or more (height is fixed to 600px) while for mobile devices it’s 1:1 or even less(height is fixed to 500px) and sometimes the width is below 500px, the theme will crop the background image anyway, it’s not possible to show the full image without cropping it and to look good.

2) I’m afraid that’s not possible without a good deal of customization, sorry.

3) When you’re on an individual page, you can check the source code and the classes used on the <body> tag , each page has a unique ID which can be used in the CSS selectors, such as .page-id-200 ..

And you can use this code

.page-id-200 #intro {
display: none;

don’t forget to replace the page-id-200 with your own unique selector

4) Uhm, this theme is not WooCommerce ready by default.. And it doesn’t use NextGen either by default, so I don’t know if there will be any conflict between these two, as both are 3rd party plugins

I’m having issues with the fonts not changing to the google fonts. I’ve tried via “Colorization & Fonts” and the font doesn’t change. I’ve also tried adding the code via Custom CSS and the font goes to a default serif font and not the Google font I specified.

.title h1 { font-family: Pacifico; } .title h1.smallh1 { font-family: 'Roboto Slab', serif; }

Hello, what’s your URL?

If you add it in custom css, make sure you also load the font from google web fonts, if you simply add “Pacifico”, it won’t work as the font is not loaded

Hi I have a section in my page now that is called “Our Coffee” but the URL in the browser says ”” What do I need to do to make the URL say something more correct like ”” please? Can’t figure it out but think it must be something obvious I’m missing! Thanks Trevor

Hello, you can go to the page in the dashboard and modify it’s “slug”. in the URL, you can click on edit and change it to “our-coffee”

Hi! Is it possible to create a 2nd page that loads up a completely different page, instead of just scrolling down the main page? I’d also love to have it in the top menu. The only reason is it’s sort of a side project of mine so I don’t need it with all of my other work, but I do want it featured on my website. Thank you!

Separate pages are possible, they’re just as individual posts. You can add them in the menu as external links and it will work just fine, you’ll have it in the menu without it being shown on the homepage

Sorry, I don’t know much about these types of things… How would I go about doing that?

Oh, I thought this was a pre-purchase question. You don’t have the “purchased” badge on this account, please post your question using the account you used to purchase the theme

Hello, Is there an option for a mobile friendly navigation for this theme? My theme seems to be having many issues. Is there an email address or support forum where we can discuss?

thanks, Allan

Hello, sorry for the late reply, for mobile devices the menu is transformed into a <select> html tag which can be used to navigate between the pages.

After many months of customization work—I have finished building and taking live my new website using your ViewPoint Theme:

Envato Lic: 7221cda3-1404-4c12-aa79-d415bd093310 – 31 May 2014

However—we have found that the contact form never delivers any email. Our email account does properly receive email sent using any other method. And mail is not being filtered to a Spam/Junk folder.

It simply never arrives.

Please get back so that we can provide you with FTP & WP Login info to help us debug this problem.

Thank You,

Envato User: KimBrill

Hi. Did you try using the Contact form 7 integration? (if you’re using one of the latest versions available). Does it work with CF7?

Yes – we have tried and tested both contact form modes. Neither works properly.

1) Default Form: “Your message was sent”, but never actually sends anything.

2) Contact Form 7: activity GIF spins and spins, but never sends nor responds with either success or failure.

Hello, that means the problem is with your mail server, you’ll have to contact your web host about it.

The theme is great but I would really like to have 2 main background images that alternate every 5 seconds or so.

Is there any way to make this possible?

Hello, unfortunately that’s not possible by default, sorry

I bought your theme with one of my other accounts but I was just wondering how can I make the background of the current active menu a different colour according to the sections that are being read?

For example if i was looking at the About section the menu would add the following class to the menu:

<! li class=”menu-item-2”>Home</-li>
<! li class=”menu-item-3 current”>About</-li!>
<! li class=”menu-item-4”>Other Page</-li!>

I have tried to implement with jQuery but it was not working so I deleted the code. Could you let me know if it is possible? So I can get cracking with it when I return from the holidays.

Thanks in advance, Mee

Hello, please send me your problem + the purchase code via the contact form on my profile so I can verify the purchase.. or post the problem using the account you used to purchase the theme.

It isn’t a the template problem. I just wanted to customize a bit as we are doing some changes. I don’t have access to the account from here, but I will try to get one of the lads to post it from the office. Meanwhile, I will try to figure it out on my own.

Thanks, Mee

I see. By default the theme doesn’t add any class and there’s no “scroll spy” functionality that could be used to know what page you’re currently reading, the only way would be to modify the current jQuery code and on clicking any of the menu items, to add a class such as “activeMenu” (make sure you remove it from any other menu item).

But if the visitor won’t use the menu to navigate, there’s no other way by default, unless custom coded.

Hi. In shortcodes.php file you have filter_shortcode function that filter shortcodes by tags. Why there is no and tag? It’s not possible to make bold text in shortcode (ex. one_half). In addition, you don’t use if “(!function_exists(” in this file.

You can go to includes/shortcodes.php and add <strong> to the list of allowed tags on the filter_shortcode function, on line 3 .

function_Exists is not used as the functions are using prefixes related to the theme and it’s unlikely to be another function with the same name

Hello, how can I use my logo?

Hi, you can add this to style.css

span.logo {
background-image: url("your logo url here");

Hello, the live preview button isnt working for me, is there a problem? I would love to buy it but i want to see it live in order to be certain. Thank you

Hi, it should work now, sorry!

Hi again, thank you! Correct me if im mistaken, is the parallax effect working properly? Comparing it to the HTML version of viewpoint where the parallax is visible!

Hello, due to some issues on mobile devices, the parallax effect was removed for the header image, but it can be added back, I can provide the code for that. But you may need to play with the image used in order to get the best possible layout.

hi we have purchase your view point theme… it worked well before but now if i enter to the wordpress admin and select editor the theme gets deleted … can you help me on this

Hello, you don’t have the “Purchased” badge on your account

HI Having a major dumb moment – where in the theme can I change the header background image please? Thanks – help appreciated. Trevor

Hi and sorry for the very late reply. You can upload your image in the Media menu link and then add this to style.css

#intro .bg1 {
background-image: url("link to your bg image here") !important;

Hi, I just started with your theme “ViewPoint”. But there is something that I can’t find. After a title i have a headline with random text like “Some cool headline comes here” / “Look, I ain’t in this for your revolution, and I’m not in it for you, Princess.”. Where can I remove that? I can’t find any field or set with code in the .php files. Thanks Tom.

Hi, you can add this to style.css

p.headline {
display: none;

or you can modify its content for each page by creating a new custom field called headline and putting the content there

I am having a problem with this theme where the fonts appear way too big on mobile devices, as well as the navigation bar is layered on top of itself. How do I tweak the appearance for mobile devices?

Is there any way I can send it to you privately? Edit: I sent it to your email address.

Please let me know if you did not receive the url thx

Hi, you can add this to style.css

nav ul li {
line-height: 51px;

The rest of the text shows up fine on my mobike phone

is this theme compatible with the most current version of Wordpress?

Hi, yes, sorry for the late reply

We purchased the theme Viewpoint and everything is set up. The thing is it won’t send mails using the contact form at the end of the site unless you are logged into the wordpress admin panel. How can this be solved?

The site is:

Best regards J

Hi. this doesn’t make much sense, as the code is the same for both logged in and non-logged in users. I’ve tracked the AJAX request and it seems to send the data just fine, so the issue comes from the mail php function, are you sure it’s configured and working properly for your server?
