Hy there!

I plan to go to the https protocol. I have to do something extra to aku besides the mandatory changes (the site title in wp admin, .htacces 301 redirect code, a few sql queries in cpanel php myadmin)?

I’m thinking about pictures and especially those in the galleries.

Thank you!

Hey there,

Hi!

Will this theme be updated to be used with Wordpress 5.x? If so, when is the update scheduled? I will need to update a website that runs this theme. I would like to know what to expect.

Thanks!

Hey there,

There is no known issue with WP 5.1 at the moment. The theme will be updated if needed.

I hope it will help.

Okay great! I thought it wouldn’t work, as the info on here says software version up to 4.9.x. Maybe time to update the info if it does work :).

Thanks for letting me know! Feel free to let me know if you find any compatibility issue. We do our best to keep up with the latest version of WP even for our older themes.

Kind regards

Is it possible to make it so the Featured Image on a blog post automatically populates the post header? I know it can be set individually under Post Options, but I wondered if it were possible just by setting the standard Featured Image option?

Hey there,

Sorry for the late reply.

Please select the “zoom” option then add this CSS snippet in the customizer CSS tab, or in your child theme style.css file.

.do-zoom.bg{animation: none!important;}

It should do the trick.

I hope it will help.

Is there any reason in particular that an archive.php file does not exist in the Aku theme? My search results repeatedly come back as finding nothing, even when searching specific content that I know exists on the site. So I installed a search plugin and it says I cannot use it without an archive.php

I just didn’t know if there was a reason it didn’t exist. Thank you!

Hi,

An archive.php is not mandatory as index.php is used by default if no archive.php file is found.

You can simply copy index.php file and rename it archive.php

I hope it helps.

Is it possible to add a menu to the Top Bar? I noticed in the comments from several years back you had mentioned that you were looking at adding that functionality.

Thanks!

Hello! I have been using the Aku theme for a long time, and love it very much. I have noticed, however, a bug that is a bit of an issue for a client of mine.

When a nav bar is set to not be sticky and the browser gets sized down and sized back up and there is a switch from desktop to mobile nav to desktop nav, it causes a sticky nav to appear but with incorrect sizing of the elements within.

What do you think could be causing this?

Hi there!

Wordpress 5.5 broke Aku, especially the mobile menu.

The cause is known, it is jQuery Migrate which is missing from WP 5.5 and has ruined tens of thousands of sites …

My question is if you will upgrade Aku to WP 5.5 or will we have to stick to WP 5.4.2 forever …

For those interested that WP 5.5 has ruined their site, the solution is downgrade to 5.4.2 with the WP Downgrade Plugin | Specific Core Version by Reisetiger …

Thank you in advance!

The second official solution comes from The WordPress Team and is a plugin called Enable jQuery Migrate Helper.

This plugin serves as a temporary solution, enabling the migration script for your site to give your plugin and theme authors some more time to update, and test, their code.

And my question still remains: will Constantin update AKU code for WP 5.5…?

Hey there,

Sorry for the delay Of course, an update is planned for Aku as well as all other themes. It should be available next week.

Cheers

A very BIG Thank You!

All the best for you and the whole team!

Hi Constantine!

With your permission, I’m bothering you with an interesting problem …

A WPBakery Row element has a setting called “Visibility for devices”, a technology probably based on @mediaquery and “hidden” attribute, tailored and simplified by you with 5 options to hide or show content on different screens.

Why is it interesting …? because it generates duplicate content if I want to present the same text, in different layouts, for desktop and mobile (probably the purpose for which the setting was designed).

For example: Headline + Text, with background photography on large screens and only background color for mobile (for better visibility).

We all know that duplicate content is a disaster.

My question is: from your vast experience, is Googlebot smart enough to see that I did this for better visibility or will it severely penalize me for duplicate content…? Or worse, it will ban the site…

My research on different WPBakery forums did not generate a concrete answer, it seems that the situation is not well known and I really don’t want to take the risk without a well-documented answer.

There is no problem for different content, here the situation is clear. The problem arises when we have the same content.

Thanks a lot!

Hey there,

I’m pretty sure you won’t be penalized in any way by having shown/hidden content in your page code for different devices.

I hope it helps.

My theme is no longer updating on it’s own and is causing a conflict. I cannot view pages that are in draft mode anymore. Any idea how to fix this?

Hey there,

Here is how to update rhe theme: https://wolfthemes.ticksy.com/article/11658/
