Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How do I make CSS customizations?

For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS ” option on your theme options page.

Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974. The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

How can I center the logo in Alyeska with custom CSS ?

This is one possible solution. You could put something like this either in the Custom CSS option on your theme options page or from your child theme’s CSS , if you have one setup.

#branding .header_logo {
    float: none;
    text-align: center;
#branding .header_logo .tb-image-logo img {
    display: inline;

Comments are already active on posts in this theme, but how can I add comments to pages?

This is not possible from your WordPress admin panel, however there is a way to do this by utilizing the framework’s filters in your custom code.

Copy this into the functions.php file of your child theme:

function activate_page_comments( $setup ) {
    $setup['comments']['pages'] = true;
    return $setup;
add_filter( 'themeblvd_global_config', 'activate_page_comments' );

NOTE : Remember that all code customizations should always be done from a child theme. So, make sure to check out the final chapter of your documentation on making code customizations.

How can I add a custom layout built under the “Builder” section as my homepage?

There are two completely separate methods you can do to set the custom layout you’ve built as your homepage.

Method 1: Create your custom layout, apply it to a static page, and then assign that page as your static frontpage under Settings > Reading > Frontpage Displays.

Method 2: Under Settings > Reading > Frontpage Displays, select “your latest posts.” Create your custom layout. Then, go to Appearance > Theme Options > Content > Homepage, and select your new custom layout as the content for the homepage. If you’re using an element in your custom layout that uses post pagination, make sure you use this method.

When I am editing a layout in the Layout Builder, I cannot add elements to the layout. When I click “Add Element” the loading circle spins and spins, and nothing happens.

I’ve had a few people tell me this and in all cases, this was the issue. In their cPanel for their hosting account they had something called “Page Speed Optimization” and this was causing the issue. So make sure and disable this through your hosting account’s cPanel.
