Sorry you have had a poor experience. We do our best to detail the full theme feature-set, installation, and configuration within the included documentation. We even go as far as introducing basic Ghost usage as many users are trying the platform for the first time. If you feel anything is missing from docs or could be explained in more detail, please do let us know as we are always looking to improve these.

As for the support issue we are investigating this. On rare occasions there maybe downtime with Ticksy (our current support desk provider) or the Envato API which can cause such issues. If you are having difficulty using our support site you can always get in contact via email through our support address.

The difference between these versions is 11KB~, so the performance gain of using jQuery 2 negligible. As such we choose to have better accessibility for older browsers.

With this being said Astro is fully compatible with jQuery 2, and if you wish to use this you can change the CDN version to include this opposed to jQuery 1. If you require assistance with this open a new ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.
