Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

I’m getting “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error when I’m trying to install theme.

You are trying to install whole theme package. But you need to unzip downloaded package first and install just blockmagazine.zip file.

What are the pixel dimensions of the vertical, big, horizontal, and normal post sizes?

Following image resolutions are used:

Normal: 302x251px;
Big: 614x511px;
Vertical: 302x511px;
Horizontal: 614x251px

I want to show the post title in every size of boxes on the homepage.

In style.css find ’ .item .item_inn ’ and change bottom value from -400px to 5px.

When I click an image it opens in a lightbox and says “undefined” in the caption. How do I resolve this?

- click on image (in post content) and hit ‘Insert/edit link’ button: http://prntscr.com/3r1szp

- then insert some text into ‘Title’ field

How can I make the homepage like the demo (different size of featured pictures)?

You can set different homepage sizes for every post in ‘Themnific Post Options’ tab: http://prntscr.com/3xl5hi

style-mobile.css file is not loaded in child theme.

Into child theme folder put style-mobile.css file and add following code into this file:
@import url("../blockmagazine/style-mobile.css");

style-mobile.css from parent theme will be imported; and if you want to edit (responsive) style, it isn’t necessary to edit parents style-mobile.css

How to update theme?

- From http://themeforest.net/downloads download theme package.

- Unzip package (twice) to get main theme folder ‘blockmagazine’ .

- using FTP, go to theme folder (“YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/”)

- rename actual theme name to e.g. blockmagazine_backup

- Drag and drop new (downloaded) theme folder ‘blockmagazine’ into theme directory: “YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/”

- do nothing with website until upload is done.

I am using blog template. How can I change category pages to the same layout.

In root theme folder (blockmagazine) delete category.php file and rename category_alt.php to category.php
