Discussion on Bounce: Multi-Purpose Business WordPress/BuddyPress Theme

Pre-Sales Question, is it possible for users to upload files to share with the community, like research papers, pdfs for slides, things like that? And then would it be possible also to incorporate a membership part of the site, were if people used a certain amount of space or had enough items that they had uploaded, could you then be able to charge them, using a membership plugin.

Hi there,

Both of these features would require plugins. To allow users to upload their own content you would need to use something like: http://www.kaltura.org/project/Rich_Media_BuddyPress_Component

To integrate a paid members section you could look at using http://www.s2member.com/

Close to a purchase on the theme. One other question.

On the page templates is it possible for me to make the side bar more narrow. Like a 1/4 page or 1/5 page spacing?

Hi there,

Yes you would need to adjust the sidebar and main column widths from via CSS which is really simply and I can show you if you decide to purchase the theme.

Thanks, the three things I would want to do is:

1. Change the header color to a gradient shade of mid-shade blue

2. Change the sidebars to 1/4 rather than 1/3

3. Change the font and color of the phone contact in the header

Could you help me with those things. It should be pretty easy I would think.

Hi there,

Yes I can certainly help you with all three. Once you purchase the theme head over to the support forum at http://ghostpool.com/support and ask your questions.

I asked a question on the support forum and never heard from you. It looks like you deleted what was the support forum and now I am stuck with a theme that is not functioning. This is outrageous, are you no longer providing support for the bounce theme?

Hi there,

The support forum was undergoing some changes yesterday. I can assure you the support is still ongoing and I have now addressed your question over. :)

Hi, after much deliberation, I have purchased this theme.

Unfortunately the support forum won’t let me register with my purchase code. Can you help?

Hi there,

Can you tell me what exact issue preventing you from registering?

Can you try registering now as I have adjust some settings.

Hi, I really like your theme and am close to purchase. I mean this with the most respect to you and I am going to be open about my reservations.

I see in your posts that you are sometimes away from your support site for weeks at a time due to traveling or not having internet access. I read on of your posts that you have recently moved home? It seems that when you are here you do an excellent job.

My concerns:

Will you continue to offer support and updates for the Bounce theme for at least 5 years?

Will you be consistently here to offer support?

Please let me know. If you are, then I will purchase the theme. If not, as a growing business I can’t take the chance. Again, I love the theme and your work and mean no disrespect with the questions.

Hi there,

That’s a perfectly valid question. I have been here for 3 years and in that time I’ve only ever taken one holiday for a 1 week period. Most recently I had very limited internet access for about 2 weeks but still managed to offer limited support. Other than these two instances I believe I offer a very quick and helpful support service.

I cannot guarantee I will continue to support Bounce for 5 years, what I can say is as long as Bounce is for sale on ThemeForest it will be supported. I have no plans to remove the theme and love working with it, so it is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Great! Thanks for sharing this information. The only access I have to get a picture of the support are comments on this forum, so I appreciate the feedback. I think some of the comments about your availability recently were a bit extreme and thanks for clearing that up.

The support forum is still not working. I received your solution, I moved the file yesterday to another directory. I updated the code and the image is still not showing up. You can use the same link that I posted in the support forum which I cannot access for some reason.

Hi there,

Have you reset your password here in order to access the new support forum? http://www.ghostpool.com/support/lost-password/

Yes, i did. I can login, but not able to gain access to the thread. It does not load for me. I really need you to answer my question, I have been waiting for an answer for almost a week now and still did not receive any support. Please advise me on how to proceed further.

I cannot find your topic on the forum. Please post a link to the topic. I also suggest posting your topic again and if you cannot post a topic post your question here.

I have no problem accessing this topic. Try clearing your browser cache before visting this page and make sure you are logged in.

This is the solution I provided was:

“You should enter the full image URL in the shortcode and secondly the image URL you entered does not exist http://profootballhangout.com/wp-content/uploads/bengals.gif e.g.

If this doesn’t work, and it seems you’ve read this already, if you email me via my ThemeForest contact form at http://themeforest.net/user/GhostPool#from (you need to be logged in to see it) with your URL and WordPress admin access and a link back to this forum topic I’ll take a closer look.

Hi, very close to purchase. On the demo homage here: http://ghostpool.com/wordpress/bounce/ can I place a photo slider in the entire area that says “Bounce is a powerful, professional and fully responsive” rather than the small slider that is there now?

Also, is there a showcase of real sites that have been built from the bounce theme? That would help a lot.

Hi there,

The homepage is a normal WordPress page that is designed using shortcodes so you can customize it however you like, so to answer your question yes the slider can take up the in the entire top area. Here’s a few more example homepages: http://ghostpool.com/wordpress/bounce/pages/example-homepages/

I’ll try and compile a list of sites using the theme in a reply to this comment shortly.

Great so on the homepage I could have a slider framed by the black header coming down on either side of it? I think that would look nice. On the homepage 2 example the slider is below the header, that is not what I am looking for, I would like to get the slider with the header coming around it.

Yes the slider can be full width actually within the blue (or black) header. The examples I referred you to are just the one’s I set up a while ago.

Great! I really appreciate the fast response! Is there a way I could put a shadow under the slider like this? (Not the shuffle animation)

The theme doesn’t come with this option, but it’s something you can certainly do with a CSS change.

Is this Bounce theme compatible with Buddypress 1.6.1 that was released on 14th Aug 2012?

Hi there,

Yes Bounce is fully compatible with BuddyPress 1.6.1. :)

Are there any plans to incorporate a Page Builder for those who don’t want to mess around with shortcodes (which is most people)? Shortcodes may be fine for those used to coding, but make wysiwig editing a long and tiresome process.

I personally find the pagebuilder on BangkokPress to be supremely useful. http://themeforest.net/item/bangkok-press-responsive-news-editorial-theme/1613446

Hi there,

I’d love to incorporate something like that into the Bounce theme. At the moment it’s unlikely to happen any time soon as it’s going to take a lot of time to incorporate.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’ve now using the default Buddypress theme and will rebuilt it via a Child theme. I’ve simplified the search function to restrict search to only Post & Group, rearranged the menu using the /appearance/menu to create a simple single level menu – which is what I need for the launch of my website – see http://sdrv.ms/SfD5wO for the test site that I’ve setup on my WAMP server.

I like the Bounce theme very much with all its shortcodes, galleries, pricing table features and believe the Example Home Page 2 design is what I would probably look like in 6 months time.

I would like to know if the menu for the Bounce theme can be simplified to a simple single level menu like what I have in the appended link above? This is basically what I need for the launch.

I would rather do minimal modification based on your excellent theme framework than build a child theme from scratch – if it can save me alot of time.

Hi there,

Yes the menu can just be one level deep where there are no drop down links. You control whether a menu link has a drop down menu. If you mean something else please let me know.

Pre-sales questions:

1, Is it easy/possible to make a new theme skin? (I prefer lighter colours on my websites and all the available skins are really dark.)

2, I have tested the site both on a pc laptop and on my iPad. On the pc it works perfectly. However, on the iPad the homepage takes quite a while to load and seems to refresh part way through loading. Why is this? Is the way that the demo is configured/hosted? Will I have this problem on my site if I use this theme?

I apologise if I sound negative. These are literally the only two problems I can find with the theme. (Yes, I am picky :) )

Hi there,

1) Yes this is quite easy to do. You can either edit the existing skins or create a new one. I can explained all this in detail on the support forums if you decide to purchase the theme.

2) This should not happen. Try removing the demo bar at the top of the theme on the iPad by clicking the X button or visiting http://ghostpool.com/wordpress/bounce/buddypress/buddypress-example-homepages/buddypress-example-homepage-1

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for that.

I worked out that it was actually the iFrame that the iPad was reacting to not the theme itself.

Just bought it.

Thanks for the reply.

Hello, when used as a buddypress theme can members publish youtube and vimeo videos when posting?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve just got back from my holidays.

Yes members can include YouTube and Vimeo videos in the posts.

Great-looking theme. Pre-sales question here. Is it possible to assign a specific sidebar to each BP member for their main profile page? I’d like to have content specific to the particular member in each sidebar.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve just got back from my holidays.

There are several ways you can do this, but it’s certainly possible with a few coe modifications.

Hi, I’m ready to purchase this theme once I have clarity on the following:

1. Is there a way to install this theme in the same look and feel of your demo site? 2. Are you offering migration support from joomla (jomsocial) to buddypress? Migrating all my users to be more specific. 3. I second “erostad” concern regarding user specific content in the sidebar. Is this possible and how?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve just got back from my holidays.

1) Yes, the theme comes with a step by step guide on how to achieve this. Also included are two demo files which contain all the example posts, pages, images, widgets etc.

2) This is not something I offer. You will need to look into this yourself, I suggest posting your question on the BuddyPress support forums at http://buddypress.org/support/

3) Yes this is certainly possible – I can show you how to do this via my support forum if you decide to purchase the theme.

Hope that helps. :)

When users login, they get the message “you are already logged in.” Doesn’t make sense. Where can I edit this copy?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve just got back from my holidays.

I’ll be happy to answer your questions over at the support forum where I offer all my support. The reason for this is that the comments section is not easily searchable by other users. Visit http://www.ghostpool.com/support where we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Sorry for the inconvenience but we do point this out in the help file, item page and your theme options page.

Couple of pre-sale questions:

1. is there w a way to have this effect using your theme? http://themeforest.net/item/dynamix-premium-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/113901 (the sliding post types at the bottom)

2. Does this theme support child theme for both the wp theme and buddy press theme?

3. Does this theme play nice w/ popular plugins like , nextgen gallery, wp-total cache, event calendars (calendar displays)?

4. Similar to the question above, I was thinking of using a plugin for buddypress, http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-sliding-login-panel/screenshots/. Do you know if this would work w/ your theme?

Hi there,

1) If you’re referring to the carousel at the bottom of the page, this feature does not come with the theme but you can integrate your own carousel script or plugin to achieve this with Bounce.

2) Yes.

3) The theme has not been tested with NextGen Gallery or event calendar plugins but I don’t see any reason why they would not work. The theme works fine with WP-Total Cache.

4) This plugin does not work well with newer versions of WordPress, so you will have issues with this plugin regardless of the BuddyPress theme you use.
