can’t get it installed !!!

The Broadside file is a Site Template (HTML/CSS), not a WordPress theme. So you won’t be able to upload it to WordPress like a regular Theme. You will have to convert the files to WordPress if you want to use WordPress. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Is it me or the contact work is wrong? Name: and Email: are at the end of the end..shouldn’t they be before the box? and also, the message box is cuted to the right, is it normal?

Nope, sounds like an edit you’ve made is causing that. Check the Live Preview and you can compare that to your edited files. You can always re-download the original files again under the “downloads” and compare them to the ones you have updated if you need to.

Also, feel free to e-mail me with a screen-shot and I can help you trouble-shoot.

even the live preview is doing that. im on chrome mac last version

Oh I see what you mean. Yeah the text is on the right on purpose :-). It’s like that in every browser as that is the design. Here is a Screen shot

You can adjust that via CSS by floating the div to the left instead of the right if you want it displayed differently. All of the contact form settings are under the heading:

a really great theme. I want to purchase it but have a question. I need a news system on the site. Can you give me a tip for that ?

thanx inner

Yeah, there are quite a few “Lighter CMS ’s” that are easy to setup and can handle a news section or Blog. Here are two articles on some popular solutions you can choose from:
The “Light” CMS Trend
Top 10 Most USable CMS ’s

Hi I’m having some issues with the menu. How can I set it up so that only in IE7 ,8,9, etc… and mobile devices, the menu does not need to have a mouse over to open?

So basically It stays open right away. Thanks

Yeah you can do this with “Conditional Statements”. You can search on google all of the various “conditional statements” for mobile browsers and what not. Note that the “custom.js” file show/hides the menu and the “custom-no-hover.js” hides the menu.

Example targeting all IE browsers:
<!--[if IE]>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/custom-no-hover.js"></script>

Example targeting all non-ie browsers:
<![if !IE]>
<script src="js/custom.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Thanks for the super-fast reply…really amazing, but I’m still a little bit confused.

Inside the HTML files I have this script: <!—[if IE]> .timer { display: none !important; } div.caption { background:transparent; filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr=#99000000,endColorstr=#99000000);zoom: 1; } <![endif]—> <!—[if IE 7 ]> <![endif]—>

Do I delete all of that and put your code in? Exactly what should I do with this file so ALL IE browsers show no hover and ALL others keep the default hover? Or is it another file that I need to edit?

Thank you so much… awesome template by the way! Can’t wait for a wordpress version : )

You need to just remove the current <script src="js/custom.js" type="text/javascript"></script> tag. Then add the two conditional statements I noted above. No other code needs to be removed.

Thanks for reply. Is there no other way to build in a little news or blog system ?

A “light” CMS would be the ideal way to create a news/blog system. It wouldn’t take much time to set-up and is really the only way to go without going to a full-blown CMS like WordPress or Drupal. Go ahead and send me an e-mail if you have any questions.

I’m having a problem with the contact form not working in IE 8 . It works fine on some puters but not all.

Problem is it will not allow me to input text into the input field. Any ideas?

Send me an e-mail and I can help you out. I found one line of CSS that was giving IE8 an issue that I fixed already :-). As I mentioned, just one line of CSS needs to be changed. For future buyers, I updated the files on ThemeForest already.

Great html developing. I adapted this html template to Wordpress.

Works great :)

Glad to hear!

This looks great – will it install on Wordpress and work properly?

Many thanks, Ian

It`s only a html template no Wordpress Theme.

Another question: is it possible to get the background image of the flash version?

Yeah I should be able to help you out with this. Send me an e-mail with a screenshot of the image and I can do my best.

Great theme there.

I have a problem with bebas font.

Running my website locally, font is fine, but when i put files on ftp, the font doesn’t show up.

That’s the same with demo site, see here :

I really don’t understand what goes wrong, because no modification was done on demo site while sending on ftp.

Glad you got it sorted out :-). Site looks great!

ok sorry got it, the chmod rights weren’t good on bebas-neue folder :)

Any idea how to get the submenus to cascade up, rather than down, when the menu is on the bottom in TheSpace template? I can’t make it work for the life of me…

Make sure you have moved the <h1>Menu></h1> below the menu. Also, make sure the bottom-box and top-box classes have been switched. Check out this video and do the opposite directions:

Feel free to e-mail me and send a link to your site. I can help you out better that way.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, I meant the submenu, not the main menu, i.e. the cascade that opens from “Portfolio” in the examples… it needs to cascade upward from where it opens, not down. I still can’t locate that.

Please e-mail me. I am unsure what you are speaking of. There is no option for the sub-menu as it cascades down by default. Please send me a link and a screenshot when you e-mail me.

hi, can i add sub-images for the portfolio (a project with many subimages) with this tempalate?

Yes, you can add multiple images in the lightbox. Also, you can use the portfolio however you would like but adding categories.

Great theme..I have one question. Is there a way to take off the logo? I plan to use this as the video side of my website and dont want a black square covering a part of my videos.

Yeah, you can definitely remove the logo. It’s just a simple div and image.

Is there any way to get “Prev” and “Next” buttons added to the “light box style” photo viewer?

Yeah, at the bottom of the slide-show there is JavaScript controlling all of these settings. Change this setting from false to true:
directionalNav: false, // manual advancing directional navs

If you want to change the prev/next buttons, you can style the min the orbit-1.2.3.css file.

I changed the directionalNav: false, // manual advancing directional navs to true but still no luck. Am I missing something?

I notice the prev and next arrows show up on the in the main window box but I would like to see the arrows in lightbox pop up. How can I do this? Thanks

I see, that is a lightbox addition. You can see for documentation on this. You will want to remove the image class and instead use a rel=portfolio like so:
<a href="images/large.jpg" rel="portfolio" />

That will allow the images to be tied together in a gallery form and the next/prev links to show up in the lightbox pop-up. E-mail me if you want more information.

DOes the blog component included in this package?

thanks in advance

Hey, I don’t quite understand the question. Blog styling is included as seen in the Live Preview. Also is another “Recent News” template if you want to use that. These have to be manually updated like any other part of a site template. If you want the blog to function, you would have to convert the files to a content management system. Let me know if this answered your question. Also, e-mail me if you are curious about a WordPress version.

I just purchased this item two days ago for $35. Can I get my $20 back?! I LOVE this template.

Please e-mail me from the account you purchased explaining your situation. Use the form on my profile page so I can confirm your purchase:

I am glad you love this template.

Sorted out, just posting in the wrong spot :-). This is the Site Template Discussion Board, not WordPress.

I love this theme. I have a question before I get it. Envato has advised us to contact the author for showcasing your theme on our website.

Is it possible for us to showcase your theme in live preview on our server so that our clients get to know how this theme works?

As you know, it’s not easy for us to sell our custom service without showing our clients how the theme works.

Of course we’re going to purchase the theme first, showcase this theme on our website in live preview, and then we’ll buy each license for each domain, or website for our clients.

I hope this will help increase the sales volume of this theme for you, Envato, and us.

Hope to hear from you soon.

ritzbrown, go ahead and send me an e-mail with all the details. You can reach me via the contact form on my Profile page.
