hi, great theme so far.
just need to know how can I bold and underline the footer heading like your demo. thanks

thank a lot. worked very well. Infact, i presented the website to my client and he approved it. however, he suggested a few header changes.
1. align the logo to the left and take the navigation menu next to the logo
2. can we make the layout fullwidth? thx, S

Glad that worked out! I’m happy to offer some basic notes, but some of this reaches beyond the scope of support.

Here’s our official support policy: Support Policy

It’s the same as the TF version, but includes some additional information/links to FAQs via our Support Forum in case it helps out.

If you would like me to look over something, feel free to shoot me a request including your endgoal.

If it’s not included with the theme options, I can make some suggestions – but ultimately all customizations are going to be up to you.

Cheers!

Great theme! Would it be possible to get a plain HTML/JS/CSS version of this. WP-labotomized?

Thanks!

Hi matthewbga,

Thanks for the question. Right now, Campus is only available as a WordPress Template. This theme does comes with a Campus – Full Start Guide.PDF, though, that walks through setting up theme and demo on your site.

(see this article Downloading, Extracting, and Included Resources for more information on accessing the latest updated files/resources included in the theme-download-package).

For other related questions/answers, feel free to check out this link.

Hi, How to remove the comments form from here? http://s29.postimg.org/vjhakllfb/Screenshot_162.png

Hi shoebzeeshan,

Thanks for the question. Without an active link, I can’t tell if that’s a post or a page but the process is more or less the same.

Navigate to Posts (or Pages) > Hover over the post (or page) that you want to manage > this will reveal the Quick Edit option > Select the Quick Edit option > and de-select the radio button for Allow Comments. See the Codex for more info.

You can also manage this within the Post (or Page) when the Screen Option for Discussion is enabled.

This is all native WordPress stuff and not theme specific.

To help users out, though, I’m including a option for posts to manage this globally (ie. turn this off for all posts). You can find this option in Appearance > Theme Options > Post Options.

Hope that helps! If you have any issues with this and would like to file a bug report, please feel free to at the dedicated support forum so that I can help out: File a Support Request

Cheers!

Hi Kola,

Hello Presale qeustion:

is the PSD file included?

Thank you

Hi wais6,

Thanks for the presale question! This theme was actually designed during the coding stage, so unfortunately there isn’t a full PSD included.

There are a couple psds included for the logo, flag, and favicon – but nothing that would take the place of a full template psd. I apologize about the inconvenience. If you do end up purchasing the theme, feel free to let me know if you run into any issues or questions. I’m always more than happy to help out where I can.

Cheers! Charlie

Thank you Charlie,

Great to know that you are there! i will purchase theme andi if there is something i will let you know.

Hi, how do I update the theme while saving customizations I’ve already made? Thanks!

Hi 5or6brains,

Great question!! And that depends… What customizations?

If you’ve added new option values in Appearance > Theme Options, then you can back this up manually via OptionTree > Export > Theme Options and copy/paste the txt string to a text file.

If you’re adding custom CSS via the Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS panel, then you can either backup with the already mentioned process or just copy/paste the custom css to a backup file.

If you’re altering actual core theme files, then you’ll want to consider using a child theme – since updating the theme will override all core/parent theme files. Having a child theme running allows for template customizations while ensuring that your safe in the event of an update.

The Campus Theme includes a sample/starter child theme in the Resources > Child Theme folder. Then, just copy the template/file that you want to alter from the parent theme and add it to the child theme.

For more info on child themes, check out this link.

Hope that helps! If I overlooked anything, feel free to let me know.

Cheers!

I´ve just buyed the Campus Theme and I cannot to download the file. I´ve download the theme but I cannot open file zip. I´m Spanish and I don´t understand everything. When I go to my wordpress, and try to install my theme, its said that there is nothing in the file.

This is the message appears me in my layout of wordpress when I try to install the file theme:

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/update.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 406 Not Acceptable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

When I go to my wordpress, and try to install my theme, its said that there is nothing in the file.

Hi verosequeira,

Thanks for the question. This doesn’t sound like a theme issue but I’m happy to offer some additional information regarding downloading and installing the theme.

First, if you haven’t already, check out these two links:

Beyond that, I also put a basic walkthrough together on the theme download/installation process that you can find here: New Theme Installation Video . That video is from 2012 for MDNW, so there are some things that might look different, but the basic overview is the same :)

Hello, I got emails about updates available. How do I install them? Thanks, Peter

Hello Charlie, I tried to overwrite it, but now my website is down :( It says that Php on my server does not contains Sql which is necessary for Wordpress to operate. What can i do now?

ok, i uploaded back my backup but i do not know why i cannot rewrite it?

Hmm… Not sure why that would happen. It sounds like a hosting issue though, so I would touch base with them to see if they can offer you any additional information regarding the issue you’re running into. From there, if you or they find that there is something in the theme causing this – please let me know.

hi great theme so far.
how can i change the background color of ui-widget-header.
instead of the background image.

Hi syedqadry,

Thanks for the question and I’d be happy to help out with this. Just need a screenshot of the specific element that you are trying to customize along with a link that I can check out.

Hi xoftmade,

Thanks for the questions.

01 – Filing a ticket: Make sure that you are using this link to access the correct support forum. Beyond that, I don’t have any additional information beyond what they include (TF > account > downloads > item download > License and Purchase Code (TXT).

02 – Included Resources: Everything that you need is included in the theme-download-package. Check out this link for more information on Downloading, Extracting, and Included Resources.

How to change the color of this section? http://s29.postimg.org/gspvie7uv/Screenshot_181.png and how to change the color of HEADER of this section? http://s15.postimg.org/4xrhd2tx7/Screenshot_182.png

Hi shoebzeeshan,

The Visual Composer Tabs colors are linked to Appearance > Theme Options > Skin Builder > Primary & Secondary Color options.

I’m also including extended style options in the next update to give users more control over Visual Composer Tab styles (since they currently don’t offer full control over these). If you want to test out this new beta/functionality before it’s rolled out in the next update – feel free to shoot me a private ticket so that I can provide it for you:

Hi,

I updated the theme to version 3.1.4 today.

We use roboto font for long time. But now even though the font is set to “roboto” in Typography sectoin, it is not showing up. URL – http://goo.gl/X3vqQg

Hi technibits,

I’m trying to replicate this on my test installs and they all seem to be working.

I recommend running through these Standard Troubleshooting Steps

After running through those STS, I’m happy to look into this further if you can provide some specifics for me so that I can replicate this on my end. Without the ability to replicate the issue, though, I’m limited in providing support for this bug report.

Cheers!

Support Policy | Articles | Standard Troubleshooting Steps | File a Support Request

Hi!

I fixed it by custom css.

The default font getting loaded is “Roboto Slab” everywhere. Even though I set other font on typography section, only Roboto Slab is getting loaded.

Thanks for the feedback!

I double check this by setting all of the Global Font Families (Menu, Sub Menu, Headline Font, and Body Font) in Appearance > Theme Options > Typography to various Roboto font families (Roboto, Roboto Condensed, Roboto Mono, and Roboto Slab) and they all seem to be working.

It’s possible that you might need to update the code in Appearance > Theme Options > Typography > Advanced Users Only: Dynamic CSS Code if you are coming from an older version of the theme.

Sounds like you have something working for you, though. If you would like some additional help in regards to diagnosing this – I’ll need a formal bug report at our support forum since I have no other reports of this at this time.

Cheers!

Hi,

Does the theme safe to update for wordpress 4.5?

I heard lot of people had issues with visual composer plugin after update.

Hi technibits,

Great question! I haven’t personally heard anything on my end (either here in the comments or on the support forum). I did see that VC rolled out an update (11.1.2) that specifically noted:

Added: Compatibility with WP 4.5

My thought is to wait until I can roll out the 3.1.6 version of the theme which will include this VC update (11.1.2), or pick up a stand alone license so that you can do auto updates. For more information, check out this link.

I’ll do what I can to release that update asap though.

Cheers!
Charlie

Okay, I’m up-to-date on the latest and will be rolling out an update soon.

Thank you for the fast update!!

hi, can i have a header height of 140px only (regardless of the logo size)

Hi syedqadry,

Sure, but this really depends on your endgoal. For example, you can add something like this to Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS:
#section-header {
  height: 140px;
}
But if you want to modify this to center the logo, then you’ll want to use something more like this (instead of that other snippet):
#section-header .site-title-wrapper {
  padding: 40px 0 50px;
}
Then you’ll want to make sure that you’re taking into account mobile devices/break points: @Media Queries

Good luck!
Charlie

Hello my visual composer has expired ,if i renew the support , do i get to renew the licence of visual composer.

thanks

dear AUTHOR,, i purchase the theme with Visual Composer , but now the Visual Composer is no longer working ,, it works for us for a year now,, but for the last month we can . all i need is to have the Visual Composer works fine as before ,, can you help with that !!

Hi elmunir,

I just updated the included/packaged version of Visual Composer in a theme update today.

Navigate to ThemeForest > Account > Downloads > and download the “All files and documentation” option. Extract the files from this zip > navigate into the folder > Campus WP/Resources/Premium Plugins to find the updated/included version of Visual Composer (aka js_composer.zip).

Downloading, Extracting, and Included Resources

From there, navigate into your FTP connection wp-content/plugins/ and override the existing js_composer with this new version (you’ll need to extract the js_composer.zip). Beyond that, if you’re still having issues, you may need to delete the old version of VC > then upload the new version (since overriding wont remove any unused/removed files).

For more information, check out these links:

For more information on updates and changes made, feel free to check out the Campus | Update Log

thanks ,, got it right now

the Full width sliders don’t seem to work. When choosing the full width option, the slider pushes over to the far right off the screen. The only thing visible is a white bar. Are we able to use full width or force full width with this template?

Hi pctMac31201,

Thanks for the question and for the heads up, I’ve added a patch to the next update, but for now try adding this to Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS to see if this fixes the issue:
.full-width .rev_slider_wrapper {
  max-width: unset;
}

From there, you might also try using a standard row in Visual Composer and using their options to Stretch the Row (and contents if necessary).

Let me know if that helps, Charlie

Hello ThemeIsland,

I wonder if you can provide a mechanism to report updates. It may be a plugin that alerts us when there are plugins updates available.

Do you know a solution for doing that?

Hi testagustin,

Thanks for the question.

Originally I was recommending the Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin (tutorial here) but they’ve since moved to the Envato Market plugin.

Simply put, though, Envato is the parent company of ThemeForest (and CodeCanyon, Etc.) and all TF account management needs to go through their API.

Outside of that, they also send out emails to our users when we submit updates (and they are made available).

Let me know if that helps :)

Charlie

Thanks for your help Charlie. I’ll send this info to the university and let you know.

Cheers!

Any time :) Also, if you’re interested, I update the Campus | Update Log with each new update – so you can reference this to see the changes made.

why say this:? Ocurrió un error al actualizar WPBakery Visual Composer: To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit Settings to activate your Visual Composer. Got Visual Composer in theme?

is free

Hi hostoms,

That’s just a notification via that plugin if you want automatic updates. It’s not required and I include manual updates (How to Update Premium Plugins) for this plugin via the theme-updates. For more information on this, check out this article:

Premium Plugins FAQ: Do I need a license code? Need the latest version? Support?

That article should cover everything, but if you still have questions – feel free to let me know.
