Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How to set the home icon in the Main Menu?

To add a home icon, add a Custom Link to your menu, enter your home URL and set the CSS class to menu-item-home

If the CSS classes field doesn’t appear, click on Screen Options on the top right and check the CSS Classes checkbox.

How to change the homepage layout?

To change the homepage layout, please follow these steps:
  • Create a page, enter a title and choose a page template.
  • Below the content editor, you will find some options that you need to adjust, depends on the page template.
  • Click “Publish” button to save the page.
  • Go to Settings » Reading. On Front page displays, choose A static page and select the page you just created.
  • Click the Save button.

How to make the logo centered?

First you need to remove the banner on the top right. Open header.php file and delete line 53 – 61:

How to configure the Twitter widget?

Because of the latest updates from Twitter API on June 2013, you are now encouraged to use Twitter Embedded Timeline. You can generate it from widgets settings page on and copy the code into your WordPress text widget.

You can still use compasso twitter widget, but you must now register your twitter app and copy some API keys into the widget settings.
  • Go to and login with your Twitter account
  • Click “Create a new application” and enter the application details (Name, Description, and Website), enter captcha code and click Create. (screenshot here)
  • On the next screen, click “Create my access token”.
  • Copy Consumer key, Consumer secret, Access token and Access token secret (as highlighted here) into the Twitter widget settings.

How to set the slider?

  • Open Theme Options -> Slider and make sure the slider is enabled
  • Create a normal post from Posts -> Add New
  • Add a featured image (recommended image size is 620×350 or higher)
    This image is important. If the post doesn’t have a featured image, it will not show up in the slider.
  • Add a “featured” tag.
    Default tag for slider is “featured”. But if you already have a category with the same name, it may not work. You can try to change it to other tag from the Slider Tags field in the Theme Options
