I’m having a bit of trouble with the portfolio section. When I create a subcategory for a gallery to be listed in the portfolio, it adds this category to my menu bar at the top. I have a plugin that hides categories from the top menu, but when I hide it it also makes it disappear in the portfolio page.
Is there a way to make it so the subcategories do not appear in the menu and only in the portfolio page? Forgive me if this is a very simple fix, this is my first time setting up a Wordpress website.
I am also having a problem having the slides in the slideshow on the front page link to anything. I am adding the “link url” custom field but they still do not link to anything. The full url path is listed in that custom field.
Thank you very much, really enjoying the theme otherwise!!
Very soon (in next 5 days) update which support WP30 Menus will be released. Meanwhile in CreativeWP Options page edit “Categories to show” and insert only category IDs you want to show on top menu.
Thank you very much!
Looking forward to the update!
None of the dummy content or links from the helpfile are working?? Can you please advise me on what to do?
The theme is wonderful and we are very happy with it. The only challenge we are having is that the drop down menu for the Gallery pages is behind the horizontal slider. Is there anyway I can fix this?
the site is at http://www.babyboyzent.com
<object height="320" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" width="720"><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8PWu_T0gBE4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed allowfullscreen="true" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8PWu_T0gBE4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" wmode="transparent" allowscriptaccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="320" width="720"></embed></object>
Thanks for your quick reply! I made the fixes and it works like a charm! Thank you again.
One additional item. now that we have the transparency fixed, the word “slide” is appearing. How do I delete this?
I see that there is an image with alt attribute “slide”, but without src. Delete this from your 1st slide.
Just checked our site and out of nowhere, our portfolio page has stopped displaying in the portfolio format.
We upgraded to wordpress 3.1 and since then, the portfolio layout (with all the thumbnails doesn’t display)
The portfolio items work fine, with the slideshows etc, but the portfolio page (with grid items) are displayed in the blog layout with dates.
The template for portfolio is selected on the portfolio page…
What else could cause this?
I’ll have to check what’s wrong.
I am in process of updating Creative template (to work with WP3 .1)
Thanks dude! I sent you a login to have a look.
Is my issue theme-specific due to WP 3 .1, or is it just on our site?
I am still trying to figure it out. Some functions are deprecated and it takes time to see what’s the problem
Ok. Theme is PERFECT otherwise. Keep me posted.
how to change the image size in the slider I trying to do that but not able to.. it is taking the default one..
I want to use my own images that are small.
<img src="<?php echo $main_image; ?>" alt="<?php echo "slide$i"?>" width="<?php echo $img_w?>" height="<?php echo $img_h?>" />
<img src="<?php echo $main_image; ?>" alt="<?php echo "slide$i"?>" />
I asked you this question:
The 1st slide is the video and I see that the code is automatically inserting “slide” as the alt attribute on ALL the images in the slider. Where would I edit this out? I don’t see anyplace where this can be edited.
firstly, love this theme!
i can’t access the HTML tab when editing a post? I have checked within the user admin area and not disabled there. any thoughts?
thanks in advance
Really don’t know how to solve this. This is not because of our theme, so you should ask google.
I’m having an issue with the menus, not sure what’s could be going on I checked everything and I’ve followed all the guidelines in the help file. Installed wordpress 2.9.2 and necessary plugins.
Se how it looks: http://www.lateralcreativa.com
menus are option in >WP3.0.
Upgrade your WP and you’ll have brand new Menu panel.
I’m giving up, this is too complex for me, help isn’t that clear, the CreativeWP21 menu in the appearance menu is quite confusing. Theme is great looking and functional but hard to set up.
I think you should think more in designers next time and make it easier for people with less tech knowledge, we are supposed to buy templates to make our life easier.
All the success!
Thanks for the awesome theme! I have one issue I hope you can fix. When I put the Email for receiving newsletter subscriptions in the Creative Settings page section it doesn’t work. I am not receiving emails and clients are asking what is going on? I need their request to build the business. When I move the mouse over the Subscribe button it also doesn’t look like a link with the Hand hover effect. I have nothing to the code!
Please contact me via email form on our profile page with wp-admin url, username and password.
Love the theme, got a couple of questions, on the homepage there are the three images that I have added, I can make the image link to a url but i would like the title and image to link to a page other than the portfolio, is this possible.
When I add the url link to the image a box appears in the middle, I would also like to remove this.
Finally what is the name of the image in the file for the header section ( the light wood ) as I will have to change this and I just want to make sure its the correct one.
<a href="<?php echo $link_url; ?>" class="ext-link" target="_blank"></a>
<a href="<?php echo $link; //the_permalink();?>
a<a href="<?php //echo $link; the_permalink();?>
That worked a treat but how can I link those images to a url?
a<a href="<?php echo $link_url; ?>
Top quality help as usual, finally how can I remove the “read more” next to the images under the latest news title.
Thanks again for all your help
<a href="<?php echo $link; ?>" class="intro_right">read more »</a>
<a <?php if ($link == "http://www.brankic1979.com/theme/CreativeWP21/category/news/") echo "style='display:none'"; ?>href="<?php echo $link; ?>" class="intro_right">read more »
I am suddenly getting the following error when i click on any of the links in my template, everything was fine as i have not changed anything, any ideas?
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/g/l/a/glm/html/INVENTITS/portal/index.php:23) in /home/content/g/l/a/glm/html/INVENTITS/portal/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868
In addition, the website has become so slow, extermely slow, please help
have you installed some new plugin, updated WordPress…?
Not a single change, haven’t touched it for the past 1 month.
Maybe there is some auto update option or your server change something.
Please send me your wp-admin url, u/p and I’ll check it later.
to be honest I don’t know what seems to be a problem.
If you haven’t changed any of theme files (you didn’t), or you haven’t changed any of WP core files (you didn’t) I think there is something changed on your server (but can’t prove this).
I cannot disclose my admin password on the forum, what is your email id?
There is an email form on my profile page…
