Great theme! Awesome. Wish you the best with sales
Thanks Vicky!
Nice
Thanks
Fantastic Theme… Does it have Infinite Loading like Flipboard?
Thank you! To answer your question no, this one doesn’t. We tried to keep this one as simple as possible.
Jesse
Great stuff Jesse knew it would be
Haha, thanks Rich
awesome work, very good job
Thank you very much Eric!
Wow, the editing mode is amazing. Outstanding. There is just one thing I noticed. Under Typography: changing the Paragraph size changes the size of the body copy as well as the size of the menu copy. I think the two need to be independent. If I enlarge the regular text of a post, the size of the menu links has to stay the same. This is pretty important. I was almost ready to buy, but this is a no-go criteria for me. Menu copy always has to be smaller than body copy. Is this something you could fix in a future version?
Thanks. Again, awesome theme! – Quin
Hi Quin,
Thank you for the feedback! You make a good point, we will look at adding a body type area to the typography section. At the moment menu items are calculated at a smaller percentage then that of the body text.
Jesse
Hi Jesse, thanks for the reply. Okay, I hadn’t seen the percentage dependency. Sorry for describing it wrong. Yes, the body type area is probably what would solve it for me. Thanks for looking into it. – Quin
No problem, I’ve been thinking about this and you’re right in your logic though. Perhaps a list typography section might be a better way around it.
Jesse
Simplicity at its best! Love it!
Thanks Vlajki
Hi Love the theme, perfect for me! How easy will it be to change the hover image setting so that the images are greyscale by default and are coloured on hover? Basically, the opposite to the CSS3 Greyscale effect in the Test Drive mode. Thanks.
Also, is there any chance that you will be adding e-commerce to this WP theme soon in the style of the rest of the theme?
HI, you would need to use custom CSS to do that, but it wouldn’t be that hard. Re the e-commerce, perhaps if enough people request it. But it’s not on any immediate lists.
Jesse
Hi, thanks for the quick response.
Plan to purchase the theme in the next couple of hours Would be great if e -commerce was added in the future.
Good Luck with further sales
Ben
Thanks Ben, let me know if you have any pre-purchase questions.
I would like to edit 3 things on the theme, and would just like your assistance on how to do theme:
1. Make the image hover effect the opposite to the CSS3 Greyscale effect in the Test Drive mode (without the title on hover)
2. Add a budget option in the contact form (in £)
3. Make the image on each blog post appear to the left of the title ad excerpt. (Like Kerem Suer’s blog – http://kerem.co/blog)
Are these possible, and how would I go about doing this?
(Gave you a follow on Twitter by the way )
Cheers Ben
1) This custom css does that. http://snippi.com/s/mq5lh8j (tested on testdrive and working). You would need to un tick the greyscale option from the “image hover” tab.
2) You would need to directly edit the send.php and also the page-contact.php directly. Perhaps a job for a developer.
3) You could use custom css to float the ‘masonry-image’ to the left or right and the content will sit next to it. The problem though is you would need to accommodate for mobile devices with a few media queries.
Best Regards Jesse
Thanks for your help. Purchased the theme. How do I select the ‘minimal’ style once in my Wordpress admin panel? I cannot find how to change the style from the standard one to the minimal one. Thanks
Hi Ben, there are no set versions of the theme or pre-made skins, just different settings in the theme customiser. As outlined in the docs (http://docs.visualkicks.com/crush/#customize-demo ) you can just copy the settings 1 for 1 from test drive into your own site. Shouldn’t take more then a couple of minutes (and you’ll learn a lot about the theme in the process).
Jesse
I might also point out, you will need to setup your pages as well etc. I would recommend quickly going through the site setup section of the docs.
Jesse
Great!
Thanks for all your help. Sorry to be a nuisance
Ha, no problem.
Hi, I cannot seem to get my Filters working correctly on my front page. Any suggestions? I haven’t done anything, they just disappeared…
Cancel that…
Excellent Theme!Like it
Thank you
permalinks for filters?
Do you mean the ‘inline’ svg greyscale filter or am I missing something here?
Best Regards Jesse
I would like to buy this theme, but I need permanent links for the portfolio categories. Like, .com/crush/standard/portfolio/audio/...
You can link to both portfolio filters and portfolio categories. Although, we have made it so filters aren’t clickable (because they’re filters not categories )
The fullscreen demo demonstrates this. Category as archive: http://demo.visualkicks.com/crush/fullscreen/portfolio-category/portfolio-1/
Category as page with template of “portfolio” listing the category “portfolio 1”: http://demo.visualkicks.com/crush/fullscreen/portfolio-1/
Also, i’ll direct you to this bit of info in the docs: http://docs.visualkicks.com/crush/#portfolio-multiple
I hope that helps, Jesse
edit: ps – it’s unlimited portfolios if thats what you want.
Also, just for completeness sake – http://demo.visualkicks.com/crush/standard/portfolio_filter/gallery/
Well, yes I see what you’re saying. It’s okay when you showcase some of your work, but when you publish hundreds of entries… I mean, it’s simple to manage like it is right now, at the same time not so simple. And imagine I wanna change the theme after two years, what do I do with all those entries? I’m looking for something simple, normal like having categories and subcats… God, that’s a shame, I really love this theme. You broke my heart
Ahh, thats a shame. You could always just add your filter or category permalinks to the main menu? Like how I put them above?
In any case, thank your for the interest in the theme!
Jesse
If I do like you say, how will the entries relate? Like here for example on “More Work” — http://demo.visualkicks.com/crush/standard/portfolio/design-process
How do you relate Portfolio-1 with Sub-portfolio-1 in the “more work” section? That is what I’m trying to understand, sorry.
God, what have you done?! I’ll kill you, Jesse! :))))
Ahh, now I see what you’re saying. It’s always good getting another users perspective on it things. I was curious as to how the code would handle it. So, i tried it out & this is what happens.
http://d.pr/i/b9Gp – http://d.pr/i/4fDi – http://d.pr/i/MsfH – http://d.pr/i/bGOuBasically the related items code looks if the post has a category term, and then displays posts with matching categorie terms. Pretty basic query really. Whether thats howd want it though? haha, any way. Perhaps come take a look in a patch or two and we will see if that is any different.
Advice on how you think it should function? Only show more work from sub categories? Or like it is now with parent categories included.
Jesse
edit: the text “more from cat cat cat” is a different matter though, I’ll be putting a patch out that should place a comma in there. Ty for the feedback, feedback makes better products.
The bitch is mine! :))
thanks & have fun. Any questions just let me know.
Hey Guys, Super theme. I have one wee problemó. When trying to create the blog through Pages->Add New then under Page Attributes->Template
There are only three options ‘Default Template’, ‘Contact’ & ‘Portfolio’. There is no Blog option like suggested in the manual.
I have tried reuploading the theme, switching to another theme & back to no avail. Any other suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Hi & thank you for the purchase!
The blog uses the ‘default template’. You must of misread the docs http://d.pr/i/wH4T
Wow to think I’ve coded lots of my own templates. I read & reread that a thousand times (no wonder I couldn’t find it) .
Thanks for the prompt reply!!
No problem
