If you experience any troubles with the Slider or the Dropdown-Navigation as I did, try this:
Go to your local directory \wp-content\themes\deadline-responsive\_assets\js and search for superfish.js and easing.js.
Place a _bak to the filename, to make sure you’ll not loose the original file.
Afterwards you’ll visit the jQuery Easing Plugin and the Superfish Plugin pages.
and move them to your local directory \wp-content\themes\deadline-responsive\_assets\js.
Rename them to superfish.js and easing.js and upload both via ftp to your corresponding server directory.
Thank you for raising this and we are going to update this asap and we will make the update available here on ThemeForest available.
I’m running Deadline 1.1.x. Starting with Wordpress 4.1, the avatar is no longer showing in the author bio at the bottom of each article. I believe I have a support ticket open, but the e-mail thread is stored in an email client that is currently broken. The site is http://CaliforniaWineFan.com. Thanks for any advice.
Thank you for raising this and we’ve responded via the ticket we had in ZenDesk. We would need a few more details as we don’t seem to be able to replicate this problem.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Will Deadline be updated anytime soon or has the theme reached its, ahem, deadline?
Thank you for your query. We actually have an updated & refreshed design for our Deadline theme. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA yet on when we will be implementing this. If all goes well then we will be able to update it over the summer.
Hi, I received an email that the theme had been updated, but when I try to download it here, it’s still the old version. When will it be possible to download the update?
Thanks for your message. You are absolutely right and for some reason the download file is still the previous version. I’ve updated the latest version again (v2.3.8) and this should become available on ThemeForest in the next couple of hours.
Thanks for your answer. The new files are online now indeed. But I wondered if you have a changelog as well. Thanks.
We’ve only made a small change regarding the plugin recommendations (TGM class) which we have removed as a security precaution.
We will start updating the Deadline changelog again which has slipped through the net recently.
Also, will this page be updated? http://www.awesemthemes.com/version-history/deadline
Thanks for pointing this out. This page has slipped through the cracks. We’ve just done a new release and the latest version is 2.3.8.
Thanks – will you be adding what has changed?
excellent Theme! Well done!
I have a pre sales question, since i want to install a high traffic website on this theme, i am looking for a theme that it is light in its operation and it won’t Abuse CPU resources (PHP) on a Shared Hosting Account. Is your theme considered light or a bit heavy?
Thank you for your help
Thank you for your query and we’re pleased to hear that you like our Deadline theme. The theme itself isn’t too heavy and we’ve not included that many additional libraries and scripts. You can test the performance here: http://tools.pingdom.com/ and simply put in the URL of our demo site: http://www.awesem.com/deadline-responsive
With regards to size, as long as you don’t have too many slider images then it shouldn’t be too big. On the demo site we have three images in the homepage slider.
Please let me know if you have any further queries.
Hello. This is a pre-buy question. I noticed there is no sharing button implemented for each blog post. Is that true or you just didn’t put them in your demo?
Thanks for your query and interest in our Deadline theme.
When we first launched Deadline we did have a number of sharing options but it was difficult to maintain as things kept changing and we’ve therefore removed this functionality.
There are a number of sharing plugins available and you could have a look at these for example:
Hello, I was wondering if I can remove the line/stripe under the Navigation menu?
Thank you for your query. Please feel free to amend the navigation to make it suit your requirements. We recommend that you apply the changes to the child theme so that future theme updates are simple to apply. The CSS selector is #main-nav and you would have to amend the border-bottom attribute. If you need any help with the customisation please feel free to request a quote from our customisation partner: http://wpcustomize.it/
Hi, I am having a hard time getting into the support system. How do we change “Read The Rest of This Entry” on the whole site?
You can change this in _includes/standard.php around line 54. We recommend that you copy this file into the child theme to make future theme updates easier.
I bought your theme because my client has an older version of the same and it wanted to update to the last version, responsive. The menu, however, does not resize properly at 768px wide. The items of menu go in second line, over the other contents.
Have you a solutions for this error?
Hi! I’m waiting always for your reply. Please send me a message
We’ve now replied to your ticket via our helpdesk.
Hi!!! The theme is compatible with the last version of wp 4.4?
Thank you for contacting us, yes the theme is compatible with wp4.4.
The Compare Team
I recently upgraded to WordPress 4.4 and I notice that the homepage thumbnails show up poorly in Firefox. Still seems to work OK in Safari.
Also, I now have a long list of warnings like this in the dashboard: Warning: simplexml_load_string(): Entity: line 6: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: hr line 5 and body in /usr/home/tpss/public_html/mv/wp-content/themes/deadline-responsive/_admin/update.php on line 131
Oh. Here’s the website: http://tpssvoice.com/
Thanks for raising this issue. As a quick workaround you can put a PHP comment in front of the two add_action functions in update.php ( e.g. // add_action( ... ). This will ensure that the code does not get executed and you won’t get the warning. The code checks for theme updates and it is fairly safe to turn this off. We will update this directly in the theme to properly address this in the next theme update.
Hi, I have the same problem. My dashboard show a lot of this message: Warning: simplexml_load_string(): <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC ”-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”> in #/_admin/update.php on line 131
Can you fix it?
Hi Olaf, thank you for your fast reply. I add this comment and it’s all ok.
Thank you very much
You’re very welcome. Have a good weekend.

You can address this problem by editing update.php and removing or commenting the code that checks for updates.
Please feel free to raise a support ticket over at http://www.awesemthemes.com/support if you need further help with this.
