Very nice theme. I have a restaurant that would be perfect for this theme if only the owner would hire me to redo his site. I like the responsiveness of the theme as well. It looks very good on my screen. 23” wide screen.
Thanks CyberShot for the nice comment. I hear you on that one, sometimes a nudge in the right direction is still not enough. I think restaurants would receive big benefits from a responsive theme. I hear about 1/2 of all local searches come from mobile / smart phones. Check out this Microsoft article:
Looks great! Best of luck with sales
Great looking theme, I personally think that it is now standard practice on themeforest to supply sample data with wordpress themes so that we dont have to study the documentation and follow things step by step to achieve the same results that a simple sample data dump could do in a matter of seconds.
Can you please let me know if you are or not willing to provide sample data that replicates your live demo (obviously minus the images)
Hi agilecorp, thank you for your suggestion. We are eager to look into this as soon as possible and reply to your request. It sounds like a feature that would be very useful. Thanks for helping us improve this theme.
The sample data is now available here: http://bit.ly/TrwAZE. Let us know if you have any further questions.
Very nice work Guys.

Yes sample data is needed here too.

This may be a dumb question.. I’m just scaling it down to tablet or mobile size on my browser and the navigation seems to go away?? am I just not seeing it?
Hi Rixdesign, the sidebar moves from the side of the screen to the top of the screen when you resize. The navigation is also positioned at the top of the screen in a drop down select list when the site is resized for mobile.
oh yeah.. i see it
whats the url for mobile demo please?
tried:- http://demo.themovation.com/eatery/ but get the desktop version, was hoping it would default to mobile.
IGNORE It came up
Excellent Theme. I am however having an issue with Custom Header images. Everytime I load 4 images for the top header area and click Autocrop and sew on save, it gives me this error. “There was an error saving your new header image. Please check permissions.” I don’t know what permissions it is referring to. Please help.
Hi stoneplayter, thank you for contacting us. We have identified an issue with some web hosts. We will be releasing a fix immediately. In the meantime can you please private message us and we’ll send you the hot fix right away. Thank you again for letting us know about this issue and for purchasing Eatery.
Down in the bottom right is where you can email us directly.
The updated version has now been approved, so all future downloads will not require the hot fix.
A feast for the eyes… Great work!
Good one! Thanks!
Question. Can the white background (menu area) can be changed to different color ? thx!
Yes, there is a custom colors section in the admin area where you can easily specify the page content background color, as well as other elements of the layout. There is also a custom CSS box where you can override element colors as well.
This theme looks great. Before I purchase it, can I please ask a couple of questions?
1. Is your theme compatible with WooCommerce?
2. Should my web designer be able to create a slider with the header photos (I’m sure it’s possible, but it is going to be tricky to modify the theme?)
Hi justinesimard, we haven’t built in special support for WooCommerce but everything is well commented and logically laid out. We designed it to be simple so customization would be easy. From my recollection we did not take away any core WordPress functionality.
The top header image is in the background and a simple style includes the image. I’m assuming your designer could retrofit a slider in there. We are also available for freelance work if you need some special customization. We are very happy to work with your designer on just the items you need assistance with.
Thank you for your interest in Eatery. I hope my response helps answer your questions.
Hello , Nice looking theme.
I see the theme description page speaks of changing header color and fonts etc, is it set up to change the eatery name and fork out for the restaurants logo image in the header?
Hi bikergraphicartist, yes you can swap the logo out for another. You can upload a logo directly from the theme options panel inside WordPress. Eatery will resize your logo if it’s too big. The colors can be changed in the theme options area as well.
Thanks for the nice comment.
I just realized you ask if you could change both the fork and the eatery name – yes, they are both one image so uploading a new image / logo would replace both fork and name. Cheers.
Hi. Very nice clean looking theme. I need to make my (fairly simple) restaurant site multilingual and have been looking at wplm, xili-language and qTranslate plugins. Should this theme work OK with any, or all, of these solutions?
Hello awayguy, our first goal when creating this theme was to keep it simple – glad you like it. As for the multilingual support, we have kept in all core WordPress functionality so those plugins should work just fine. If by chance something does not work please let us know and we will do our best to make it right.
Thanks for your interest.
Thanks for previous reassurance. I can report that qTranslate seems to work fine. I have their widget to select languages directly under the logo at the top of the sidebar menu which is quite neat and convenient. I’ll let you know if I encounter any problems down the line…
In the meantime, a question: I run two restaurants and am interested in trying to have effectively two home pages – one for Restaurant A and one for Restaurant B, each page having it’s own menu and then sharing the (food)menu, reservations and blog menus/pages. I would like to customise the sidebar with different logo, some text info, address etc. (and possibly use a customised joint logo and info for the other pages!) Am quite happy to make a child theme and do what I have to do – can you point me in the right direction?
Glad to hear that qTranslate worked well for you.
In regard to the 2 restaurant setup, it’s definitely custom work and there are a couple of ways you could do it. The plugin Widget Logic is great if you want different widgets on pages (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/). In the CSS , you could put display:none on #logo and then add two different widgets at the very top with the logo images and make them show on the pages you want with that plugin.
Nice theme. How does Q-translate affect the SEO? Also, does it slow each page down dramatically? Because you effectively have all language translations there, but it´s hidden.
What is the best language plug in?
Thank you. We can’t personally speak on experience with qTranslate or any language plugins since we haven’t used them, but awayguy mentioned that qTranslate worked well with Eatery. I don’t think it would slow down the site much, if it all. In terms of SEO, it is clear that the plugin author has made that a priority as he outlines a couple of points in the description including that there is “one language for each URL – Users and SEO will thank you for not mixing multilingual content”.
Thanks for your rapid reply. Really like the theme, it should be perfect for a customer. Which devices has the theme been tested on?
That’s great, you’re very welcome. We’ve tested the theme on many different devices including iPhone 3GS, 4S and 5 as well as iPad and Android.
Great theme, straightforward options, easily customizable, and great support from the developer. It turned out to be one of the quickest turn around jobs I’ve done for a small/simple restaurant site.
Thank you Glad we were able to help!
I am a new member and this will be my first purchase of any theme so I have a couple of possibly newbie type questions.
Firstly, what happens when you update the theme? Do I get unlimited updates?
Secondly, if I use this theme for a clients restaurant website can I then use it for another clients website or will a new purchase be necessary?
Thanks in advance
Hi Gioonline, thanks for your interest in Eatery and welcome to Themeforest. Yes you get unlimited updates to the theme as soon as they come out. We will be posting updates and upgrades on a regular basis. You don’t have to update but a lot of times our updates will include new features. It doesn’t cost you anything.
As for the usage / license, ThemeForest sets the terms of the license which you can find here (http://themeforest.net/licenses/regular_extended), in it they say “Your use of the Work is limited to a single application.”. What I like about ThemeForest is how reasonable the cost is for a theme. $40 is a great value.
I hope that answers all your questions. If you have any more please send them our way.
