I have already post the same comment, but I think that have been erased, because I can not find it….

My question is very simple I want to change the language to spanish of this theme. I have been purchased for this theme, but I can not find the “po” file to get change to spanish.

How can I do this? please.

Hi Mvalls,

Thanks for your questions. The theme isn’t internationalized yet, so there is no “po” file in the download. Internationalization will come in a future update.

Please 2winFactor I need help…

I have another question:

when I use the shortcode of lightbox and I preview or publish the page, in the side of the text link of the lightbox appear two black forms in the middle of the page. I try to make another wordpress installation and the result is the same. I think that this shortcode doesn’t work well. How can I fix that??

That I want to do is show one image in the lightbox, and if I can show one text will be awesome.

pd- Sorry for my bad english

Hi Mvalls,

Do you have a link to the site I can take a look at? I can troubleshoot once I can see what is going on.

Thanks, Andre

Hi how do I modify the menu so I have more room for navigation?

- Brian

Hi SOS ,

Open up header.php and change the

<div class="grid_4 logo" />
<div class="grid_1 logo" />
<div class="grid_8 logo" />
<div class="grid_11 logo" />
. That should give you more room for the navigation.

Hi Also how do i create additional sidebars? I need to make separate sub navigation sections.

Hi SOS ,

You’ll need to add the code (wrapped in php tags)

 if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('Your Custom Sidebar') )

to a page template where you want the sidebar to go.

Then in functions.php add
if ( function_exists('register_sidebar') ) {
        'name' => 'Your Custom Sidebar',
        'before_widget' => '<div class="widget %2$s" id="%1$s">',
        'after_widget' => '</div>',
        'before_title' => '<h4 class="widget-title">',
        'after_title' => '</h4>',

I love this template. Best purchase I ever made. Very intuitive, organized and really beautiful. Good job!

Thanks Verav! I’m glad you like it! :)

Will BuddyPress (the WP community plugin) work in this theme?

Hi Apokalupsis,

This theme wasn’t designed with buddypress in mind – I’m not sure if it would work with the theme. You may have to do some heavy modifications to get it to work with Ellipsis. Sorry I could be of more help.

What a beautiful theme! I just started working with it and find it really intuitive. I’m sure I’ll have a question at some point since I’m still a relative newbie, but so far it’s accommodating my needs beautifully. THANK YOU !

Excellent! I’m so glad it’s accommodating your needs so far! Any questions you have, just shoot them over.

Hi Andre,

Great template. I made the purchase but two style/formatting issues stick out to me:

1. I like using breadcrumbs but I don’t like the small font, color, and italics. Can I easily change this? If so, how? Maybe hover underline also?

2. When only using certain widget sections on the homepage, there’s an increase in (extra) white space above and/or below area where unused widget section should be. Is it possible to have the same amount of white space, regardless of which widget section is used?

3. Is there a way to set/change Coda Slider order?

Thank you!

That was fast.

1) Great, thanks! Can I remove the entire breadcrumbs section if desired?

2) The distance from the top homepage section to the footer section is enormous. (I can live with it, though.)

3) Perfect, thanks!

1) Yes, although you’d have to remove it on each of the page templates. Otherwise if you disable Yoast Breadcrumbs your site tagline will replace the breadcrumbs

2) Try adding:
.latest {
    padding-bottom: 0px;
to the custom css box and it should solve your issue.

3) You’re welcome! :)

Hi Andre,

Your suggestions worked great! Thanks very much!

I just bought the theme, but when I activate it, there just the plain white page? Any ideas, Thanks Konstantin

Hi Annadata-

Be sure to extract the zip file you downloaded prior to installing. The contents of the file include another zip file called “” along with documentation on how to install the theme. You can install the theme via your wordpress admin panel by navigating to Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload. Then upload the file titled “”. If you’re still having issues let me know – I’d be glad to help you.

did install the theme again. No success. In the apache error log is this entry , when try to load the url. With a standard theme is no problem .

Wed Aug 17 21:05:21 2011 [client 77.XXX.XX:XXX] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function home_url() in /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/themes/ellipsis/header.php on line 55

Any Idea?, thank you for help,

Hi Anna-

Which version of wordpress, php and mysql are you running? It may be that you don’t have a compatible wordpress version. Do you have wordpress 3.2 installed?

Is there a way to add one of the slideshows to a portfolio item? So each portfolio item has it’s own mini slideshow?

Do you have a live preview anywhere I can take a look?

Hi Verav -

The nivo slider code is not being referenced on that page. Be sure in functions.php it’s referenced for all pages, or for the portfolio-single.php page. In the “ag_nivo_script” function in functions.php, add the line:
    if (is_page_template('portfolio-single.php'))
Then place your images in:
  <div id="slider-wrapper">
            <div class="nivoSlider" id="slider">
           <!--Images Here-->
On that page. You’ll also have to reformat the css to get it to fit on the page (which may mean adding a class).

If you need help with this modification or any theme modifications, there’s great resources that can help you such as or I’m afraid I cannot offer additional support this modification, although if you have general questions about the theme or how it’s structured, I’m more than willing to help.

Thanks, Andre

Hi 2winFactor, I’am working with your theme in a local server to try it before upload the wp.

I just rewrite several code for change the language to spanish, and all is ok. But the lightbox doesn’t work. Do you have any idea to fix that?

Hi Mvalls,

I’m glad you got the language sorted out. Unfortunately, I can’t troubleshoot the lightbox problem without looking at the code. I would check to make sure that you’re calling prettyphoto.js, and also calling it properly in the custom.js.php file. Whatever changes you made to the theme files have resulted in this bug. If I can take a look at a live version, I’d love to help you solve it.

Hey there, great theme! However, I need to add Cufon (or similar) so that my feature font for heading etc. is Sansation. I’ve tried all the normal methods, but the Google Fonts are overriding it. Even if I remove the Google scripts from the Header.php. Be great to know how to do this. Thanks. ;)

If you remove the google fonts script in the header, and change the css google fonts shouldn’t be interfering with Cufon. The script you’ll want to remove looks like:
<script type="text/javascript">
      WebFontConfig = {
        google: { .... etc

Be sure to also change the font declarations in the css too.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

I was wondering how to change widget text size?

Hi Jsaling,

Are you talking about paragraph fonts or widget titles? As in all widgets, be sure to click the “automatically add paragraphs” option first. To change paragraph fonts in widgets simply add the following to the custom css box in site options. :

.widget p {

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks Andre that sorted it out.

I’m glad! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey 2win – I ended up buying your theme and I am in the process of setting up my new site. I think it’s looking good. So, thanks!

A few things that I noticed along the way:

1. Widget Logic – I used the Widget Logic plugin for a few other sites for a Dynamic Sidebar. Unfortunately, this plugin is not working with your theme. I’d like to implement some sort of Dynamic Sidebar so I can have different sidebar info on different pages. Do you have any suggestions for integrating Dynamic Sidebars with your theme?

2. Validation on Blog Comment Response – When testing the validation on a blog response, I am returned to the following screen with an error message. Screen: – Error MSG : Please fill the required fields (name, email). Is there any way to implement the same type of validation from the Contact Form screen?

3. Portfolio Pictures – When I add a new Portfolio item and I add in a photo as the “Featured Image”, it seems additional photos are created and get resized to fit in the Portfolio view and in the Portfolio Single page. It seems these resized photos do not start from the top, cutting off the bottom half. They cut off the top and the bottom only showing the middle portion of the screen. How can I have the photos start at the top and cut off the bottom?

4. Optional Intro Section in Blog pages – I can’t seem to get the Optional Intro Section to work for the Blog page. Can you let me know if it is supposed to work or not?

5. Request a Quote validation – On the contact page, the Request a Quote fields don’t seem to validate properly. I can submit the form without selecting a Required Service or a Project Budget. These fields are shown as required fields, so I assume they should be validated. Can you let me know what’s up?

Hi Mandoman,

I’m glad your site is coming along well. I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can.

1) I’m not familiar with the Widget Logic plugin, but the sidebars on the theme use standard sidebar markup. It may be an issue with the implementation of the plugin. You can also create page templates with different sidebars for each if you can’t get the plugin to work. I’m afraid I can’t offer very good support for the plugin as I didn’t create it and never used it before.

2) Jquery validation can be applied to the comment form if you wish. You’ll need to edit the comment form template in functions.php and give the form a specific ID, and add a “required” class to each of the form fields you’d like to be required. Then in custom.js.php simply call the unique ID for jquery validation like the others in the file.

3) Wordpress cropping is default wordpress functionality. The only surefire way to do it is to make sure your images are similar proportions to the thumbnails. You may be able to change how wordpress crops the images, but you’ll need to change some core files:

4) Intro section does not work on the blog page. I’ve spent lots of time troubleshooting this one, and it appears as if it can’t get the meta information if the page is the “blog” page. That feature is currently “disabled” for the blog page, however, you can hard code something into the file if you wish.

5)That might be a bug. Shoot me an email via my contact form and I can shoot you over a fix.

Thanks, Andre

Hi I have purchased this theme few weeks ago, and it’s a great theme. I am using this theme to build our company’s portal and it’s in traditional Chinese encoding. So I need to change the default font-family to “Microsoft JhengHei”. I have tried to modify typography.css and add “Microsoft JhengHei” in every font-family statement as a leading font choice. But it seems not affect all the font displayed(especially in Chrome). I am just curious is there any other section I should modify which willn affect whole site font settings in those css files? Thanks for your response in advance.

Hi Steven,

Try adding the css to the “Custom CSS ” box in Site Options > Customize. That should overwrite all the css in the file. You’ll need to go through and make sure all tags, h1-h5, p, ol, ul, comments, etc are accounted for, but using firebug or inspect element should do the trick.

Let me know if you’re still having issues.

Hii i just purchased this theme (loved it) and I’m using the Integrated slider for my homepage. How can I change the color of the text—both the headline and sub head from white to another color? thanks

Hi Shorterdesign-

I’m glad you like the theme so far! You can change the font color in the Options Panel of the Admin.

Navigate to Site Options > Customize. Click the “Check to use custom styles from this page” in the checkbox. You’ll see options for changing the “Top Section Header Color”, “Top Section Secondary Header Color” and “Top Section Paragraph and Breadcrumb Color”. Simply pick the colors you wish to use and hit “save all changes”. Let me know if you run into any issues!

Hi Andre,

I have another question for you. The bread crumb doesn’t seem to be working, it just says ‘Just another WordPress site’

How do I fix this?

Hi Josh,

You’ll need to install and activate the Yoast breadcrumbs plugin. Plugin Url and more info included in the documentation.

Regards, Andre

Also, how did you place the google map in a frame in the contact page?

Hi Jsaling,

Google maps allows you to embed maps anywhere on your webpage – just copy and paste the code.

Instructions here:

Then simply copy and paste the code into a text widget, and place the widget in the contact page sidebar. :)

Cheers, Andre
