Great theme. I have searched for this issue but can’t seem to resolve it. My navigation at http://whenharrywedamy.com is not working. I am not sure why. Can you please take a look? Thanks,
Thanks mate. Appreciate it.
Is the issue you are having on desktop, mobile, other?
There is a minor existing bug on iPad landscape view that I am aware of, but is yours on another?
Let me know, thanks.
I seem to be having the same problem as Jimmy.
My navigation is not working either on desktop. It continuously links all nav items to the home page. Please see here: www.celebratewithus.co.za.
Could you please take a look and advise a fix?
Thanks for the purchase.
Is that the page you are experiencing the issue? I suspect you may be referring to a single page view which should link to the front page.
Let me know.
Thanks for the reply.
Correct, it is the single page view linking to the sections on the front page.
This is the expected behaviour then. All menu items will link to the homepage when in single page view.
P.S: I do have this noted down as an enhancement though it is not a a bug.
As to the 10 image cap i think is related to the SETTINGS>>READING 10 per feed/page it treats the slides etc as posts. I found this out by switching it from 10 to 3 and my bridesmades section only displayed 3. Pop back to 10 – so do the rest of the images. -Dain Sandoval
You may be right Dain. I have a fix in the pipeline for this. Thanks for sharing though.
Great theme! Two questions, hope you can help me out.
1. Is there a way to change the initials on the top left to a logo?
2. The “easy backstretch” doesn’t work anymore on the website, can you see how this comes and how I can fix this. [see: http://bit.ly/1jhB2mQ]
Hi Leo, I also can’t implement the Blog page, it doesn’t work. I want the page “Nieuws” to display all the blogposts. See; http://bit.ly/1jhB2mQ
1. The logo area currently only supports text initials, these can be changed through the Theme Customizer.
2. Do you have more than 1 image uploaded through the plugin? Have you updated the div to target the aside element?
3. Have you created both your page and category as “Nieuws”? If not, then that is the first step. Once you have this, each new post you create should be associated to this category. By doing this you will see that the blog posts will start to show.
1. there isn’t any workaround or easy method to change the initials to a simple png?
2. I uploaded two images, and set the div to aside, but it isn’t working.
3. I created a page “Nieuws” and set blogpost category to “Nieuws” but they don’t show up. I think it has something to do with setting by reading. Where you can choose “startpage shows” [where you can choose between last post and static page] What should this settings be?
1. What you could do if you wanted a .png is define it through the stylesheet directly (style.css). You will then need to set the necessary properties to kick the text off the screen and use a background image instead.
2. Do you have any JS errors?
3. Toggle between the settings and see if one works. You actually don’t need to define this. You should just have “Your latest posts” selected.
Thanks for the quick reply.
1. will search it out or let someone program it.
2. I don’t see any errors
3. If i (for exemple) select “over ons” as frontpage and “nieuws” as page for the blogposts I do get to see the easy backstretch image, but navigation isn’t working and the blogposts aren’t visable. Perhaps you can have a look at the backend?
4. I now have a duplicate “over ons” (about us) page on the buttom of the website, can’t find where to delete this.
Thanks very much Leo.
Ok, perhaps send me login details to your WP admin and I can take a closer look.
Take a look now, everything should be fixed. Here is the run down.
1. Ok, no problem.
2. Easy backstretch is now working. Looks like the error was coming from the apostraphe on Foto’s. I’ve updated this to read as “Fotos”.
3/4. The duplicate issue has been resolved. I suspect this was happening in the way your reading settings were setup, This has now been setup to have “Your latest posts” as the default. You will not need to change this. Your blog posts should now also show.
Thanks Leo, all works great, 5stars for you!
Awesome Bastiaan. Thanks so much for the rating too!
Pre-purchase question… This is a great theme for weddings – before I purchase just one question for you. My fiance and I were looking for the countdown plugin and a timeline plugin for the “Our Story” page. Is that something that is already in this theme or do you have any recommendations on where to find either one? We really want to purchase your theme and move forward with creating our site, just want to be sure it has what we are looking for.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Joanna and Jamie,
Thanks for your question. The theme does not currently come with a countdown or timeline plugin. That being said, one thing I can think of is if you were to find a third party plugin that does do this, say through a short code, then you could easily add this on the page.
So perhaps the best thing to do is to firstly find a plugin that would do the above then it’s simply a matter of installing it on the theme.
Hope that clears things up.
I just purchased this theme a few days ago and it looks great, good job on it!
I did have a question though. How would I edit the width at which the navigation menu changes/toggles to adapt to a smaller screen? I have a Mac 13” screen that toggles right away when the page is loaded.
I am also having the same issue as above where the menu once in the toggle mode, does not respond to clicks and therefore, does not show a drop down. I tested the menu by simply resizing it on Chrome for Windows and IE11 to a smaller window size.
Thank you for your time.
Thanks for the purchase and your comment.
To adjust the break points on when to trigger the different views, you will need to make the change in the media-queries.css file. Target the breakpoint you need by increasing the value as required.
Re your second issue, this is known and I have it on my to do list for a god once I am back from overseas.
Thanks again and if you have any other questions let me know. All the best.
Thanks for the reply.
Do you have an estimated date as to when the second issue will be fixed?
I hope you’re enjoying your trip.
I get back end of July so I envisage the fix being in place by first/second week of August.
If I can get to it sooner you will be notified via email.
So to get back to you on the 13” Mac… the screen resolution is 1280 by 800. If it is fully maximized, it works normally but when it is slightly windowed, it goes straight to a mobile menu. Which code would I edit to make it not go to mobile right away? I did find the CSS file you mentioned but I just can’t get it to work.
I also noticed that on Windows, the mobile menu appears and doesn’t work at 1252px and starts working again at 903px. This is on a 1920×1080 monitor. Does this help you at all in diagnosing the mobile menu?
Please see below my answers to your points above.
1. The media queries trigger as required. It really is a personal preference as to when you would like the template to respond differently, that is why I was leaving it open for you to alter the break point that you need. To elaborate on this you would need to remove the selectors that are being triggered under the below media query.
@media only screen and (min-width: 48em)
That is when the template first makes the initial change. Try increasing or decreasing the em value until you get the view you desire.
2. The mobile menu bug I am aware of the fix. It is just that I do not have access to upload the update to the review team until I get back from overseas. Thanks none the less for the information.
I hope this helps, if you need more information let me know.
I actually got around to playing with the values and I am wondering if you could help me out with this… I want it so that the 13” Macbook has the real menu when the window is maximized. The issue is that even if you maximize it, it’s like a few pixels off from working due to sidebars of the browser and what not. I managed to tweak the value so that the mobile navigation bar doesn’t appear but the rest of the content gets screwed up.
Could you help me with the CSS to do this? I think it’s worth considering to have the 13” Macbook supported for the full UI by default, since it is a very popular computer.
Thanks for your feedback. Note that these devices are supported as the theme is functional. What features are accessible is a matter of preference. That is the beauty of responsive design.
In terms of your CSS, send through what you have though note customizations that are made to the theme can incur a cost if they are extensive. Send me what you have first and I can let you know.
Note I will not be able to run a test on your theme until start-mid August as that is when I am back from overseas.
Awesome theme! Can anyone tell me how to get the layout shown in the demo, so I can then customize from there?
Thanks @flashgagnon, appreciate the comment and purchase.
So what do you not see on your end that you do see in the live preview.
Let me know and I can help you out.
Let’s start at the beginning. I appreciate your taking the time to help me. JUST ANOTHER REASON TO BUY THIS THEME, PEOPLE.
I have uploaded both the 1.4 parent and the child .zip to my WP installation, and I tried the parent by itself first. What I get is the theme with absolutely no customization (I have a screenshot but no way to attach it). All I see are just whatever defaults are set up. I have some minor experience with WP, and usually there is some instruction in the .zip in a text file or something on what to specifically upload to get the demo and customize from there.
Any help is SUPER appreciated, I have a wedding in six months and Save the Dates going out next week and I have to have this thing up and running.
Thanks so much!
Thanks mate appreciate the compliment
It sounds like an issue with the installation.
Within your main download there is a folder labelled documentation. Here you will find an extensive guide with a video tutorial as well. Have you not found this? There is also demo content which can be uploaded.
Also, if you want to attach a screenshot you can email it to me directly. My address is found within the same documentation file.
Lastly, send me through the link of what you have as well.
I can’t believe I missed the documentation HTML file. Everything and more was in there. Thanks!
One issue that I’m having, and I know I did something silly and it will be an easy fix:
I’ve lost the sidebar! See what I mean at www.teamcgmg.us
Let me know what I’ve done wrong, please. Thanks so much!
I moved my Zoom in Chrome to 100% from 110%.
Awesome Chris. Thanks for letting me know.
If you don’t mind I would really appreciate it if you could rate the think. Here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads
is there a document on how to populate content? I bought the template, looking at the source content, I’ve found how to do a few things, but I have no idea how to add the photos into a gallery and give them titles.
Thanks @iamlegion for purchasing the theme.
Have you uploaded the demo content? It’s an .xml file found within your main download.
Once you upload this it auto populates the theme with content which you can then edit as you need to.
Let me know how you go.
Is there a way to set a custom favicon? Thanks!
also, how do I set up the blog to show? There’s no template for the blog. Thanks.
Thanks for buying the theme and for your comment. You can actually have your own custom favicon but you will need to do this in the code base directly using the require link ref tag.
For the blog to show if you have uploaded the demo content you should already have it available. What you will need to do is drag and drop it within the menu setting. It is found under a category. Then assign every post you need under this category. All your blog posts will show up to the latest 3 on the front page.
Hope the clears things up, thanks again.
Got the blog to work. Thank you!
Awesome and your welcome. Would love it if you could rate the theme if you haven’t already. Here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads
the text of “Kindly respond by May 1st, 2014. We look forward to celebrating with you!” on the RSVP forms isn’t centering. Any ideas?
It is centered in Chrome and IE11.
Actually, only centered in Chrome…
So I solved that by doing align:center in the legend tag but seems a sloppy way to do it.
Yes, I am aware if that, but it is not actually a bug. Those browsers do not support centering of the of legends. The labels degrade gracefully.
My image spacing in the photo gallery is a bit messed around and also only displays 10 images? Some help please.
What issue are you having with the spacing? Perhaps send me through the link and I can have a closer look.
With the 10 images display take a look at what @toyletduck1800 and see if that resolves the issue. Alternatively, you can also use the solution which I posted for @Akatlenok (found on page 2 of the item support thread).
It leaves blanks between the photos. Its displaying all the photos I uploaded to the gallery, but the blank spaces…I don’t know.
I tried both of the above mentioned solutions, still not right.
Can you send me through your login credentials through PM and I’ll take a look at it for you.
Where do I send a private message?
Got it. Will take a look at it now.
When using Firefox and IE, if I make the window smaller, the Gift images stack on top of each other and are not centered even before the mobile navigation appears.
Any idea how to fix this please?
Could you send me a screenshot of what you mean specifically?
Good find. I’ll add it to the list of fixes.
Hi, thanx for the great template! I really enjoy customizing it.
One question though. I have a site in Dutch and were I use the widget “Wedding Couple Name” there is a “and” between our names. How can I change this in “en”. The rest is already in Dutch!
I hope you can help me out here!
Thank you for the purchase, happy to hear you are enjoying it.
Considering you need to change the “and” label, best way to do this is to do a global find on the source code for the word itself.
If I remember correctly it would be in the widgets directory. Because I am overseas at the moment I cannot confirm this.
See if you find it in one of those files, if not let me know and I’ll see what else I can do from my end.
I found the file and changed the “and” into “en”.
Thank you for the support!!
My pleasure Dolf, glad it worked
I seem to have an other problem with our site. 6september2014.nl
On some computers the acts responsive. When I look at the site ons safari on my mac book pro retina, the site is as it should be, bud on my mac and on a windows pc, it looks responsive. The site seems to think it is shown on a iphone or ipad.
What is going wrong???
There is actually nothing wrong at all. The site is responsive which means it will “respond” differently based on the device and it’s resolution.
If you did want to change this you will need to modify the media-queries.css file and alter the break points to suit your needs.
I hope that clears things up, thanks again.
I love your theme, great job. I recently purchased and i’m trying to install the theme and can’t find the demo content anywhere in the zip file.
Im sure it’s probably just me, could you point me to the correct path of the demo content?
Aww, sorry. Found it, i was looking for the wrong file format.
That’s great Andreas. Glad you found it and thanks for the purchase.
I have a pre-purchase question regarding this theme. Can the RSVP form be set up to only accept responses from individuals that received an invitation and to limit those responses to the number of guests included in their invitation?
Please let me know and thank you! Love the theme!
Thanks for your comment.
The RSVP form is powered by Contact Form 7 (WP plugin). I gather only the people that have your website address would know to RSVP.
So essentially there would not be a need for such restrictions. If you did want that kind of functionality it would be quite extensive.
I’d like to share with you what I did for my wedding site and that was to password protect the site itself and only give access to my guests.
Re guest limit, once again, I would simply put a drop down or radio box with the max allowed and that would do the trick.
Hope that gives you some ideas, if it suits then yes you could do that, though you would need to find a plugin to password protect the site.
Hi, loving the theme, found it really easy to customise thanks to the documentation files.
Couple of things I’m struggling with though:
1) How do i change the colour of the radio buttons on the rsvp form (using the demo content)
2) the background of the header sections of the contact form (kindly response by..) is white instead of grey. How can i change it?
3) is it possible to reduce the gap at the top of a page? when using the nag to roll to a page, often i need to scroll down to get a better view. Reducing the distance between the page title and the top of the page would help a lot
4) using the slider function; I’ve added static text to the corresponding page, so using it like an image gallery. Is there any way to reduce the distance between the bottom of the slider & the text? using block quotes tag straight after slider code?
Thanks for purchasing the theme. Best way for me to help you out is for you to send me a link to your site. This way I’ll be able to tailor my responses better for you.
hi leo, thanks for the reply – http://wilson-elliottwedding.co.uk
Here are the answers.
1) If you want to change the color of the outer circle then you will need to go to line 537 of the style.css file and update the border color to the one of your choice. To update the inner color go to line 542 and change the background color hex value.
2) This is because it inherits Foundation’s base style. What you can do here is go to line 515 and add a background property to the selector with a value of none.
3) Yes you can reduce the spacing here. You will find the values under line 170 of the style.css file. Just reduce the top margin to the value you want.
4) Unsure what you mean here. Can you send me an annotated screenshot so I have a better idea?
thanks for the assistance – don’t worry about point 4 as i sorted it. However I’m really struggling to reduce the gap between the section container & the image. I’ve tried amending the margin to various negative em vales but it only adjust the top margin. Heres the gap I’m referring to https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ggumk290eecn53/website.jpg
I see what you mean. Screenshots always help
It appears you’re wrapping the image in a blockquote, which means it is inheriting it’s padding values.
If you like send me access to your admin area and I can fix this for you, or, take a look at how the demo content was structured and do the same.
argh of course! Thanks, managed to fix it. One last, question (i promise) – The title on one of the pages is too long, but we don’t want to change it – i’ve tried reducing some of the values in the css sheet to try reduce the size, but no joy – screenshot here https://www.dropbox.com/s/txtj958mcjijutm/Screenshot%202014-07-05%2015.21.34.png
Sure, no problem.
So to fix that heading you would reduce the font-size value in the selector labeled .section-title on line 174 in style.css. Perhaps change the value to 3em? That will be up to your personal preference. You can then add new values to the larger breakpoints.
Wanted to reduce the image size of the header, to leave a border. Is this possible?
Thanks for the purchase. You can modify anything you like really. To do what you want you need to find the corresponding selector and modify it to suit your needs. You will find these in both the style.css and media-queries.css.
Hello, thanks for replying. I knew it was necessary to change the style.css file, but did not know the specific line. But ever met. I suggest this change as an option in the next update of the theme .
I have another doubt: widgest Callout Button ”# RSPV is not working properly, is showing 404 error not found in Notice:. Http://karineethiago.com.br.
I see you got your issues working. Is this correct?
Let me know if not and I can take a further look for you.
Hi Leo, congrats on the theme. Stylish and clever.
A glitch though – if you click through to a blog post, for example on your demo site
...the sidebar menu ceases to function. You can’t even click on the “big initials” header at the top to return to the front page.
This is kinda annoying any chance of a fix?
Totally valid and thanks for the find. I put a fix in for pages, so I can migrate this across to the blog as well.
The fix should be available start-mid August as I am currently overseas.
Hi Leo, any ETA on a fix?
Re this question, I hope to have this fix (as well as others) submitted by this weekend. If the ThemeForest review teams accepts them, then they should be available by next week.
Awesome. Cheers for the quick response.
Hi I think I have the same question as @rachelleesterhuizen, I’m having an issue with the photo gallery where if I use anything other than a square photo the alignment on the vertical and horizontal photos is messed up in the grid. Is there a way to set a square thumbnail but have the full vertical or horizontal pic display in the lightbox when it comes up?
I would also be ok with leaving the thumbnails as horizontal & vertical and just taking out the white space that is between the thumbnails. More like a pintrest board look where not every things aligned. Please let me know a fix for this
Thanks for purchasing the theme and for your comment. You could have a different aspect ratio on the images if you wanted to. They don’t necessarily need to be square. If you wanted this, you would need to alter the CSS as well as the PHP code as the theme does not have this out of the box.
Re your Pinterest idea, I like it. Though it is not a feature that has been highly requested. If I see more of my customers wanting this feature, then I will mark it as an enhancement on a future update.
In the meantime I can point you to a jquery plugin called Masonry which has a Pinterest kind of effect to it. You would need to write some custom code for this though, so if you are not comfortable in doing this perhaps hire a developer that can. Just a thought.
Thanks again and all the best.
do you know which php file it is in?
The photos section of the template is found within the Eternity Suite plugin. The specific file is found under the following directory:
