Hi! Lots of great stuff in this theme. I´m trying to find out how the validation in the contact form is implemented. Some kind of validation seems to be connected to the submit button/input fields somehow, since you get a notification to fill out all fields when you click the submit button. I have replaced all input fields and the submit button to ASP .NET eqvivalents, and I can´t get the form to submit (and the ASP .NET validators are not triggered). I can´t find any info in the documentation on the contact form. Thanks.
Thank you for reaching out to us about our Evlio – Conference Landing Page HTML5 Template. We are glad to hear that you like the theme and appreciate your interest in the contact form validation.
In response to your inquiry, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with the contact form. The validation in the contact form is implemented using JavaScript and is designed to ensure that all required fields are filled out before the form can be submitted.
Unfortunately, it seems that the form is not functioning as expected when you replaced the input fields and the submit button with ASP .NET equivalents. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and we would be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue.
In order to better assist you, could you please provide us with more information about the specific steps you took to replace the input fields and the submit button with ASP .NET equivalents? This will help us understand the issue and provide a more accurate solution.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
Hi, thanks for your answer.
Well, it took som extensive googling to find any answers to this. i couldn´t find anything in any scripts among the template files, but it somehow seemed related to Bootstrap. What finally did the trick was that i added the attribute “formnovalidate=”formnovalidate” to the submit button, and that way it was possible to override the built-in validation.
I have built dozens of websites using different templates purchased at Themeforest and elsewhere, and I have never ran into this problem before. I think there should be instructions in the documentation on how to disable the built-in validation. After all, far from everyone will want to use that.
I also ran into another problem: I didn´t want to use the modals in the template, so i removed them from the code. Strangely, this caused the navigation menu to stop working in “hamburger mode” (e.g. mobile/tablets). I had to let some oft the html from the modal remain on the page (one of the input fields marked “required” in the ticket modal), suggesting that this problem also had something to do with the built-in validation.
Could you please tell me where the validation Javascript is located in the template, and how to remove it? It really shouldn´t be mandatory to use built in scripts like this, since I´m sure that many users will want to be able to use their own solutions.
All the best
