I installed a child theme so that I could make changes to the CSS, but the changes don’t show. Any thoughts?
No – it should work just fine. But you don’t need to install a child theme just to make changes to the CSS – you could make your changes in the custom CSS box provided in the Theme Options.
If you have any plugins, I would suggest deactivating them and trying again.
If you still need assistance, please follow the instructions in your help file and contact me via the form on my profile page.
I find it easier to make changes looking at a style sheet then having to go to CSS box provided. I can’t get it to work though. I thought the issue might be in how the parent is calling up the style sheet, but I can’t find it in the header.php. Actually where is it in the theme that it is linking to the stylesheet?
Hi – we are calling the style.css from the functions.php file as WordPress instructs you to do so. The function name is tws_css_loader around line 800.
I have a problem about the arrangement of classes. How do you rearrange it according to your preferred arrangement?
Hi and thanks for your purchase – the classes are ordered as most WP posts are, the most recent first. If you want to change the order of the classes, the easiest way would be to change the publish date of each class to go in the order you wish.
Thanks for the reply. It did the trick!
Now my 2nd question is how to do a drop down menu from the main menu. Like the Classes in which it has weights, water etc.
Hi – the menu system is just drag and drop – so to get the drop down effect, simply drag the menu item slightly over to the right under the main menu item. We actually show you a screen shot of this in the documentation on page 44.
Yes it is. Thanks for that one!
I have another problem. For some reason when I check the website on other browsers the dropdown menu from the main menu goes behind the page and I cant click it. It is okay with IE however.
we don’t have this on the live preview – have you changed any of the CSS – please contact me via the form on my profile page with a link to your site.
May I ask how to make a status page like the one on the sample site where a boxed twitter feed is visible? I tried to make one but it only shows the tweet and the username.
Hi – this is a WordPress feature – you simply go to your twitter feed on twitter.com and look at the particular tweet on it’s own page – grab the url and drop in a post and choose status.
This is what it looks like: http://www.theworkitcircuit.com/status/tweet-embed-post
even if I embed this code
<a href="https://twitter.com/askmen">askmen</a> why are men driving evoques; that's the question daworkitcircuit— The Work It Circuit (@DaWorkItCircuit) May 16, 2013
<a href="https://twitter.com/askmen">askmen</a> why are men driving evoques; that's the question daworkitcircuit
<a href="https://twitter.com/askmen">askmen</a> why are men driving evoques; that's the question
Hi – not sure why you have an a href as in my previous answer I mentioned what to do which was to create a post, choose post type of status, go to twitter and look at the individual tweet – then grab the URL.
Here is WordPress’ full explanation for you:
Hope that helps!
The tweet embed now works! I dont know why but when I checked again the post page it is now showing.
My problem now is the twitter icon on the bottom menu in which it redirects to the admin login page. I have already added a twitter username but it still links to the login
Please ignore my last message jonathan, I have solved it
Glad you got everything sorted
@CIX – I had the same issue. In order to get the child theme’s stylsheet to load, you need to change the function Jonathan pointed out from get_template_directory_uri() to get_stylesheet_directory_uri()
In order to avoid hacking up the core files, you’ll need to copy functions.php to your child theme directory, as well as a dependency or two (you should see errors that will tell you what files you need to copy).
Thanks for your input @CorPaige – appreciate it bud!
How do I make the Courses module on the home page show three instead of 2 classes? Also, how can I edit the PHP/HTML on the homepage? The index.php doesn’t provide much information. I want to replace the image placeholders with a module similar to the Courses one. Thanks so much!
Nevermind I answered my own questions. How do I remove the blank space in the footer though? I dislike the space between the footer navigation and the copyright.
Hi – editing the style.css to your specific requirements will do that – best to use firebug in firefox to find the class, test your alterations then commit to the style sheet (or the custom css in the admin panel we provide)
This has probably been answered plenty of times and/or is really simple, but…
I can’t figure out how to change the color of the links. My background is white and so are the links, so they don’t show up on the page.
Hi – it just sounds like you missed setting your color in the admin panel as per the instructions – a single color picker sets all your sundry items to whatever color you wish from the picker – hope that helps and thanks for the purchase!
I have an important question. Since some days the web isnt responsive any more. When I access from an Iphone, I see the “classic” home and the slider images arent working ok.
Do you know what could be happening or if there is another used with the same problem?
Thanks a lot.
No there is no reason this should happen. The responsive part of the theme comes from styles.css – media queries based on the screen size will display what we tell it to in the CSS – there’s no way that your site can stop loading the CSS to break the responsive. Sounds like something else is interfering with your media queries, maybe a plugin perhaps? We have never heard of this before, so that would be the first thing I check into.
Solved. Its was a problem in the cache of my iphone. Thanks anyway ; )
no worries – glad it’s sorted for you!
The classes pages do not show up.
When you click on the class, it shows error page
Also, How do i display 3 classes on the homepage?
Possibly because you are using a preview dns and that no doubt is messing with your permalinks possibly? as for increasing the loop count you would edit the pho in the home template and increase the count.
I do not see the count listed in the PHP. Can you direct me to the place in the code? Im not great with PHP.
It will be best, as per the help manual, to contact me via my profile page contact form for support please. We can assist you there
Hi accordion is not working
Hi – check that you are doing things as per the help file or if you imported just look at our example by editing the page – if that doesn’t work make sure you activated the plugin, if you did that and it still doesn’t work deactivate any extra plugins you have installed that are not included in the them theme download.
Also this is not a support forum, just a comment form, please use the method outlined in your help doc for support – thank you.
Hi! Thank U for this great theme. We are finnishing a project and doing some small finetuning. Is there a way to manage the duration time between slider-images? I tried to edit wp-tabs-slides.php-file (I’m not a php-wizard :)) and Settings > Tabs Slides > Slider Speed, but it’s stuck to 600 miliseconds.
Hi – you don’t have a purchased badge – please login with the account used to purchase – thanks
Sorry, just created a account. I’m working with this theme which is purchased by site owner. But understand the issue. I try yo get him here tomorrow.
^ Now I should have right account. So, same question about slider images. Can’t change the duration time.
slideshowSpeed: 7000, //Integer: Set the speed of the slideshow cycling, in milliseconds
How can I set the trainers to show on the Trainers page in order of last edit rather than date of publication? I’m comfortable editing PHP if you tell me which page and which lines.
Thanks so much!
Hi – as it’s just a custom post type of WordPress, they are ordered just the same as posts, simply edit the posted date to reorder your trainers as you would with any post – hope that helps!
How do you get the “read more” link to display under the individual trainer bios on the trainer page? (http://mythemepreviews.com/themes/?theme=Fitness) Should it display automatically? Because it doesn’t for me.
Hi – the read more is automatic on the main trainers index page – as long as you created that then you should be good – however without supplying a link to your specific page I can’t really assist
Also, please note that as per the help documentation support is offered via the contact form on my profile page – once you contact me through there please supply a link to the specific page, your WP admin login details and a list of any and all alterations you may of made.
The read me is hard coded in to that template so if it is not displaying that would very quite odd.
How can i translate this theme. I will translate to portuguese. I have translate the .po but it is not work. What had I wrong?
This is a duplicate post.
By utilizing the included mo / po files – I recommend you do some searches online there are many tutorials. Unfortunately all we do is supply the necessary files and as I only speak one language I have never done this before so I have no advise to give sorry – I do know that many buyers have done this – as I said there are many many free tutorials on the web that should help.
I`m sorry latety. I got it. Thanks
how do I install the slider on the home page or any page? I created the slider images I just need to install the slider on the a few pages.
Hi the slider is for the home page only (all the different home pages and also the gallery posts as per the item description) simply creating your slides as per the instructions and then choosing the home page template of your choice gets them all inserted automatically.
If you wish to have a slider with shortcodes etc to place anywhere, you can use a slider plugin – many free or paid options if you wish to do that – soliloquy ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/soliloquy-lite/ ) is a really good one and free and comes with shortcodes.
How do I replace the color at the top of the page with an image background? I tried editing #main_section_home but it is overrided by the child theme.
Hi and thanks for the purchase – please use the contact form on my profile page for support as outlined in your help doc you received in your download – when you send the message please provide a link to your live site so I can see as I am not sure what you mean by the child theme, I am presuming you mean the styles produced by the theme options panel (which of course are correctly loaded last for the page) – as it’s actually a color picker, not an image based header you will no doubt need to alter some things which we can help with once you contact via the profile page.
Thanks – replied
thanks for everything jonathan!
No problem bud!
I am trying to embed a style to the class template which is a button that goes to my client appointment page….It shows up on the Visual but wont show up on the post..Any ideas Yes i try to publish it under the text tab also.
Hi and thanks for the purchase, I have no idea without a link and being able to see your code unfortunately.
If you could please use the contact form on my profile page for support as detailed in your help doc and provide a link to your site / page along with your WP login details so I can see your code – many thanks!
kk, sent u a email!
Sent you a reply because you never gave me a link to your site or the page in question…
As soon as I installed the Oswald fonts onto my computer, the website has looked funny on Google Chrome. Internet Explorer 9 looks just fine.
Make sure you are using the latest version of Chrome as I believe they had a recent fix for google fonts (which Oswald actually is) – also please use the contact form for support as outlined in your help doc – many thanks
Hi im having a hard time emulating the demo site, twitter embed is not styled and i cannot find the twitter widget….
Hi and thanks for the purchase – everything is within your documentation and it’s supporting files, but you say the twitter widget isn’t styled but then say you can’t find the twitter widget?
Doesn’t really make sense – please use the contact form on my profile page for support as per your instructions help PDF file.
