jQuery Slider for headline news in the homepage.
Demo shows 3, how many can be shown?
Would be nice to see some config screenshots as well as the 5 page templates,
The jquery slider only show 3 posts.
Forgot to upload the themeoptions screenshot, please see at http://demo.templatesquare.com/wordpress/wordcast/themeoptions.gif
I assume the 3 post is the most recent 3 in all categories?
Any screen shots of the different page templates?
The slider will show 3 most recent post under the category that you select, if you add category named “headline” then you can choose this headline category to display the posts in the slider or you also have option to select “All Categories”.
The page templates is similar, the difference is only the sidebar, each page template have its own right sidebar, so you can have different sidebar content.
The contact page template is have prebuilt standard email form.
I was hoping for a homepage version where the first and second column was combined and contained the content of the first column as an option.
The two column option is ready.
Is the WORDCAST theme available in 2 columns?
Just see in the next 1 – 2 days, maybe we can make an option to select two column version. thanks
Are you making an HTML VERSION ?
No, there is no html version of this theme.
Very nice theme. I’m having a problem getting images to show on the homepage jquery headline area. I placed the image in the custom field area as well as the post, then just the post. I’m a novice, could you let me know what I’m doing wrong.
Please disregard last post, I read the help file and saw the instructions.
Ok, thanks for purchase this theme… please enjoy
Oh no what a shame, I was just about to purchase this – your live preview sends a 404 error message.
Hi, please see the demo at http://demo.templatesquare.com/wordpress/fivecast/
we are change the name since it conflict with other company brand
I am installing this template for a client who purchased it. I am having problems with understanding the jquery slider. For the life of me I can’t find how to show pictures there that would be relevant to the posts.
The template is installed here: http://www.assurancesetplacements.org/
I read the Help file and tried anything I could think of for hours. I tried to look for the link to the images on your demo, but they lead to another WP install, Pixomia, so that didn’t help.
Is there a step by step tutorial you could direct me to?
Great theme! :O)
I just check and see the help files is help files for this fivecast theme. When do you download this theme?
please re-download… but the instruction for slider is similar.
To show image for each post, when edit the post, you will see the custom field options, add new custom field named “image” then put the value of image url (wp-content/uploads/2009/11/image.jpg).
see the help file instructions #5 and #6
Please try and let me know if you still have an issue…
I tried everything you suggested, re-read the whole help bit but no go.
I created a category called “Nouvelles.” Then I created a post, and selected to enter a picture. I uploaded a picture using WP upload, then looked for the link part you mentioned, in my case: wp-content/uploads/2010/01/smokecam.jpg .
I created a custom field, called “image,” then pasted the link address above into the value field, and clicked ADD custom field. Then I selected a category for the post: “Nouvelles” and another one as well. I updated/published the post. The image is visible in the post.
Once this is all done, I then looked at my homepage to see if the image was showing in the homepage slider, but it’s not.
At this point, I can only assume that there is misunderstanding on the steps you describe.
For example, in your HELP file, at item #5, you mention “Save the field and you should be able to see the image in the homepage slider. You are done!”
Then at #6, you tell us how to have an image show in the slider. But isn’t what #5 was telling us?
I would appreciate if there was someone who is better in english who could explain the process and write it here?
What you did is in the right direction…
I just vew source your site and see that the images of “Le détecteur de fumée deviendra obligatoire” is point to “images/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/smokecam.jpg”, you can see there is an “images” before the “wp-content”, that’s the issue..
I’m not in my workstation… I will check again later when I get back…
when I look at the link for the custom field value, I have:
I deleted all this, started over, using a different name for the picture, and creating a new custom field with a different name. Nothing works for me here.
Thanks for helping!
Please send me a message with your wordpress admin and pass, I will check…
This issue is fixed, you was change the timthumb path and put ””/images/” in the path…. please check again… thanks
Live preview is broken
oops, there seems to be a problem with Internet Explorer. The images don’t change. Firefox is good.
any idea what I can do?
I seem to have the same problem with Internet Explorer. The images aren’t changing. Firefox is good.
Is there something I have done wrong?
Which version of IE that show the problem?
What’s your site url?
Please also open our demo site with IE and see if it have similar problem: http://demo.templatesquare.com/wordpress/fivecast/
Internet Explorer 8 is the problem.
The URL is: http://www.themeetingplacenorth.co.uk/
I have checked your demo site and it is working.
Any ideas? It’s just stuck!
Hope you can help.
We have checked and everything is looks fine…
Do you have make any changes to the theme? Please try to load the original before you make modification…
Or when you download the template from TF? Please try to re-download the latest version and check if it works or not….
I love the theme. I have it installed at http://new.valleychiropractors.com/
My problem is I want one post to stay stick, and only 1. I have set the theme options to show only 1 post and I have made the desired post sticky.
The problem is that when you post a new article it still appears below. I would like to know how to exclude categories? I selected the “Headline” (which apparently is the slide show) category to be a category I created called “featured”
I would like either ONLY my sticky post to appear as I have selected in the options in editor and theme options
I would like to know how to exclude desired categories from appearing on the front page. The theme options do not appear to be setting things properly. If desired I can give you login and you can verify my settings?
Hopefully my query is clear… Let me know if I have confused you with my question, haha. Thanks for your help! It’s a wonderful theme.
Please send me a message with your questions again… thanks
I sent a message to you just a moment ago. Thanks!!
Hi – I purchased your template and anytime I post a feature they get jumbled together…? The post wined up on top/overlapping each other…? Can you help me out here as to why…?
Otherwise, I love the template
There is a bug, so when you put only short text for the excerpt the layout break… I just fix and will upload to TF soon…. thanks
Also, I saw in an earlier post this has a 2 column version…I do not have that option? How can I get it?
You can choose to use two column by change the setting in the theme option.
In the admin left menu, go to Appearance – Theme Option and see the Theme Settings then change the Theme Column in there.
Honestly, I must have a different copy…There is no option to select theme settings-column layout…?
When do you download the theme? Please re-download the latest version…
That was it! I have an older version! The column choice is there. But it still jumbles the text in a post I will stay tuned for a fix. Thanks!
The update is approved… please re-download.
I really really really need some help. I know you have already replied to me but it didn’t help.

I have re-download the theme and it’s not working. I have made tweaks here and there but I have not touched the slider php page or the js files.
My client is going crazy with me and I really don’t know what’s wrong.
PLEASE can anyone help me.
I will check again about this… I will let you know…
a netbook and using explorer.
To maintain the glow background, this theme width is set to 1200px.
To change the width, please open the ‘theme_css.php’ file under ‘wp-content/themes/fivecast/styles/’, the style name is ’#sub_container’ on line 41…
Just change the width 1200px to 1000px.
Swailan, I can’t seem to get the 3 featured post images to load—not sure what I’m doing wrong. I created the custom field (image), and posted the URL (wp-content/uploads/2010/03/twitter_Screen.png).
Question: Does it support PNG images, or must it be JPGs?
You can see here: http://cecilyoungrepublican.com
As I remember the image slider only can show jpg… but I will check again on monday… thanks
I tried posting a JPG and it still doesn’t seem to work. The thumbnail posts/shows on the page, and on the summary on the home page, but I can’t get anything to load on the to slider. Thanks ahead of time for your help in figuring out what I’m doing wrong.
Please check the auto resize cache folder permission -> ‘wp-content/themes/fivecast/scripts/cache/’ set to 777 or 755.
If the slider images still not show up, please send me a message via my profile regarding this issue…
