Hello, is there any solution to get some image protection, to make it harder to download it ?

best regards

ben

Hi Ben,

not really. If a user sees an image in his browser than that image is already downloaded to his computer. You could use a script to disable right click, but it won’t add any security—only annoy your visitors.

If you are worried of someone downloading your high resolution images then you should only upload images that are not larger than 1920×1280—it is still big, but at least it’s not an original.

Hi, couldn’t find it in the comments – how do you manually rearrange portfolio items? it shows newest first, which is ok, but if you add some lets say older project, and change the date of the “post” to desired date, it will still show as the first item…

Hey,

here’s a link to documentation section that describes exactly how projects are ordered. You simply need to change arbitrary “Order” value to change the order of projects.

Hello, I just bought the Fluxus WordPress theme and was wondering if it was possible to have a “flexible sizes grid” type layout for individual images or for images within a project, rather than only for a collection of projects? Thanks!

Hey,

I’m afraid this is not possible. The portfolio grid has many dependencies and can only work with a specific template.

Hello,

I have problems creating a private or password-protected photo gallery.

When I create a private page and I click on the preview or permalink in wordpress, it says the page can’t be found. When using the password-protected page, it opens the page but after typing the password nothing happens. All other features of the fluxes-theme are working without any problems.

Thanks for your help.

Hey,

please update to the latest version of Fluxus. This issue has been fixed in 1.4.4.

Hi

Can the homepage be set to use the ‘flexible sizes grid’ like this http://inthe.me/demo/fluxus/flexible-sizes-grid/

as i would prefer to use this as my homepage.

thanks

Hey,

yes, you can make any Wordpress page as your homepage.

Hi, I just bought your amazing theme and installed on my website: www.daviderotatori.it

But there is a problem using Safari, it doesn’t show the contents, only menu and footer. It’s a big problem for me because I use Safari as a default browser. How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance

Hey,

are you using an AdBlock extension? Could you try disabling it and seeing if that fixes the problem. I am aware that in some cases it breaks Fluxus theme and will fix that in the next version.

Regards, Vilius

Hi Vilius, yes I use AdBlock, I disabled it and now it works! Thanks for your support

kind regards, Davide

Hey Davide,

glad to hear that. Note that in the latest version of Fluxus (released few days ago) this issue has been fixed. I’d suggest you to update at your convenience.

Hi! I could become a possible buyer. But I want to have some more information:

General: Can I put a logo image and text on the up left side of the page? It is possible to create a page with an image and text, like for a Curriculum vitae or something like that?

Homepage: Can I use a image still fixed? Can I change what is inside the “Hello I’am a ….” box or can I disable it?

Portfolio: In the side bar how much text can I write? It is possible to insert links to other pages, like buttons or simil? Can I put tabs inside the sidebar? Why the trapped does not work on portfolios or galleries pages?

Social Icons: It is possible to have also 500px?

Thank you very much! Best regards.

Hey,

first of all thanks for considering and sorry for delayed response. Most of your questions have a positive answer, but let me give you an outline:

1. Can I put a logo image and text on the up left side of the page? Yes, you can upload a custom image that will be used instead of “Fluxus” in the top left corner.

2. It is possible to create a page with an image and text, like for a Curriculum vitae or something like that? Fluxus does not have any fancy CV specific graphics, but it does have all the standard styles for making a nice page with text and images. You can see more in the features section of demo website: Typography Example Enhancing content with images Putting content into columns example

3. Can I use a image still fixed? Can I change what is inside the “Hello I’am a ….” box or can I disable it? Yes, if you add single image, then the images won’t change. Text in the box can be customized, the whole box can be moved anywhere on the page or removed at all.

4. Portfolio: In the side bar how much text can I write? It is possible to insert links to other pages, like buttons or simil? Can I put tabs inside the sidebar? Why the trapped does not work on portfolios or galleries pages? Content in the sidebar is not limited, if you add more than there’s vertical space then a scrollbar will appear. However sidebar is designed to only hold brief piece of information so adding Tabs or Images in the sidebar will not look great.

5. Social Icons: It is possible to have also 500px? Yes, 500px social network is supported all you need is to put a URL to your profile.

Let me know if you have further questions, Vilius

Hi Vilius it’s great to see you back on support. I’m checking the SEO of my site and there’s an error being thrown up regarding a blank content < H1 > tag in each page is there a way to fix this.

Hey there,

have you had a chance to update your theme to 1.4.5 released few days ago? It involves changes that fixes empty h1 tag. If you still get the error then please let me know which page exactly it occurs on and I will fix it in the next version.

Regards, Vilius

Thank you I hadn’t tested the SEO since updating, my score has increased now, there are some other H1 issues on SEO I now need to resolve. ” Your page does not contain any H1 headings. H1 headings help indicate the important topics of your page to search engines. While less important than good meta-titles”

Cool, good to know. I’ve added a SEO overhaul of Fluxus in the todo list so expect score to rise again in future versions ;-)

Hi Vilius, I bought this theme because it is possible to zoom the images. Unfortunately smartphones or pad can’t zoom in/out or pan the images….it is quite annoying….is there a way to do it? Thanx a lot. Fabrizio

Hey Fabrizio,

I’m afraid it’s not easily implementable. I will take a look if I could add this feature in the future versions of Fluxus. If this functionality is crucial for you, then I can only suggest replacing Fluxus built-in Lightbox with a 3rd party one which allows pinch zooming.

Hi Vilius, If I decide to replace Fluxus built-in Lightbox….how can I do it? Can you suggest me a plugin? Or have I modify the code of fluxus? Thanx

Hey,

yes, you would need some knowledge of JS to do that. Basically the modification would consist of following parts: 1. Figure out which plugin you would like to use. 2. Install the plugin. 3. Modify wp-content/themes/fluxus/js/main.js file by replacing $(””).fluxusLightbox(); function with one provided by 3rd party plugin.

It requires some coding knowledge, but it is not a very large task. I would recommend taking a look at http://studio.envato.com/—they offer not expensive Wordpress customization services.

Dear Support-Team, is it possible to hide a “about me”-portfolio from the portfolio overview page? Thanks a lot! Matthias

Hey Matthias,

it’s not very convenient, but it’s doable. You would need add following CSS to user.css file:

.single-fluxus_portfolio.postid-527 #menu-item-424 {
  display: none;
}

This will hide „über mich“ when user is on this page: http://nicole-nerger.de/portfolio/reportage/myanmar-der-letzte-pygmaee-des-adung-long-tales/

You will need to clone this rule for every page you wish to hide „über mich“ in.

527 – is the post id 424 – is the menu item id

Hope this helps, Vilius

Hey Vilius, can I contact you via Email? Kind regards, Matthias

Hey Matthias,

thanks for emailing me the screenshot. Actually the thing you want to do is much easier. Just go to Portfolio > über mich and in the top right “Publish” box change the visibility to “Private”. This way your project won’t appear in the grid, but your users will still be able to access it via direct link (eg. the one in your main menu).

Hi inTheme!!

First yours is a great theme!

I need to be able to enter in the “Grid Options” under “Grid size”: 2 columns and 2 rows.

it’s possible?

I’d be very grateful!

Hey,

thanks, that’s great to hear. You can add more “Grid Size” options by placing following code in the wp-content/themes/fluxus/inc/user.php file:

function custom_grid_size_options( $size_options ) {
  $size_options['2 2'] = '2 columns, 2 rows';
  return $size_options;
}

add_filter( 'fluxus_portfolio_grid_sizes', 'custom_grid_size_options', 1 );

Hope this helps, Vilius

Version 1.4.5: kindly add changeLog

Hey,

change log has been updated.

Best regards, Vilius

Hi,

I have some questions for the Fluxus Portfolio theme. I would like to buy the theme to collect stories for a client of us.

But he asked if it’s possible to use landscape and portrait images in the flexible grid view? Can we combine these types of images in one overview?

And how can we choose the order of the stories? By priority of just by date?

Thx for your time!

Nico

Hey Nico,

thanks for considering. At the moment Flexible Grid only supports single aspect ratio at a time. That is you can specify if it’s 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16 (portrait), but all images in the grid will share the same aspect ratio. When configuring the grid you will have the option to choose cropping point so you don’t loose important parts of the image.

Projects are ordered by arbitrary menu order and then by date. Meaning that you can easily change the order, but by default the ordered by date.

Let me know if you have further questions.

I recently updated to the latest version, and now the galleries in my blog posts are all square (and half of them are pixelated).

I was recently trying out a new layout for blog posts where a single horizontal photo took up most of the width of the layout, and two vertical photos shared the width of the layout. I liked this because when people clicked on a photo, it would bring up the lightbox, and people could view all the photos without clicking through galleries.

I tried just inserting media to get the same effect, but then the two vertical photos are offset, and clicking on a photo opens a link to the image..

I’ve searched through all the settings and appearance options and can’t seem to find a way for the galleries in blog posts to go back to normal. Any advice for how to get blog galleries to retain their aspect ratio?

Hey,

images in galleries always had a ratio 1:1. If you wish to change that then add following code to your user.css file:
.gallery .gallery-item:before {
  padding-top: 56.25%;
}
The value in percent is a height to width ratio. By default it’s 100%, which makes them square. Now if you wish to have them 16:9, then the calculation goes like this: 9 / 16 = 0,5625 = 56.25%

Pixelation is caused because images are smaller than the allocated space. In the WP Admin when you edit a gallery you can specify what size of images to use. Try using a larger setting to avoid pixelation. Here’s a screenshot for reference: http://cl.ly/0Q3j173s023C

Best regards, Vilius

Thank you! I appreciate your reply. That helped a bit with the horizontal photos, but now the vertical ones are cropped even more. I’m also not a fan of how hovering over the gallery image makes it zoom in a bit.

Just the other day when I was trying out the kind of gallery layout I mentioned, only thumbnail had a 1:1 ratio, while medium and large retained their aspect ratio. And I’ve never seen that hover-over zoom feature before in a gallery image on Fluxus. Is there a way to have the images retain their aspect ratio no matter their orientation? And possibly to turn off the hover-over zoom feature?

Hey,

you could disable on hover zoom by adding following CSS to your user.css file:
.gallery .gallery-item .gallery-icon:hover {
  -ms-transform: scale(1) !important;
  -webkit-transform: scale(1) !important;
  transform: scale(1) !important;
}

Regarding multiple aspect ratios. Gallery shortcode is based on Wordpress implementation and is quite basic in terms of functionality. If you’d wish something more sophisticated then I’d suggest to find a 3rd party plugin. I believe there should be plenty of them that support features you are looking for.

Bonjour Ou trouver la dernière mise a jour et comment l’installer sans perdre mon site ? merci

Hey,

you can download latest Fluxus version from ThemeForest’s downloads page. Here’s a link to documentation describing how to update the theme: http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#how-to-update-theme-106

Regards, Vilius

Hi,

Ok thx. Last question: Is it possible to add a static block on the flexible grid overview? Ex: image from the company with some additional information. Something that has always the same position

Thx

Nico

Hey Nico,

I’m afraid this is not a straightforward customization thus I’m unable to help you with it.

I am trying to follow your directions to import this theme onto my new site and I got this:

Import WordPress Failed to import fluxus-project-type Commercial Failed to import fluxus-project-type Personal Failed to import “More Than Gradients”: Invalid post type fluxus_portfolio Failed to import “Press Pause Play”: Invalid post type fluxus_portfolio Failed to import “NYC”: Invalid post type fluxus_portfolio Failed to import “Fluxus Logo”: Invalid post type optionsframework Failed to import “Fluxus Logo Retina”: Invalid post type optionsframework Failed to import “Fluxus Favicon”: Invalid post type optionsframework Failed to import “Fluxus Facebook Image”: Invalid post type optionsframework All done. Have fun!

I followed the directions in the realm.txt. Not quite sure what to do next.

Hey,

it looks like you haven’t activated Fluxus theme before importing demo data. Make sure you first activate Fluxus theme Appearance > Themes first and then follow the importing instructions.

Let me know if that helped.

Hey Vilius

Thanks for the theme, I use it for 3 years now ! Just a comment : It would be great if we could have the possibility to have the blog post as a Full width page (without the blog post sidebar). So far It is possible to do it but really not easily :)

Hey,

super happy to hear that! I’ve noted your request and will investigate it when working on the next feature set.

How do I change the color of the responsive menu icon, hamburger? I’d like to make it more visible on mobile. Thanks

Hey,

you can change it by adding following code to your user.css file:
.burger-menu-toggle span,
.burger-menu-toggle span:before,
.burger-menu-toggle span:after,
.burger-menu-toggle:hover span,
.burger-menu-toggle:hover span:before,
.burger-menu-toggle:hover span:after {
  background: #f00 !important;
