first of all – thx for this template.

to my question… is it possible to sort the content in the categories in a list? the picture on the left and the content right to it. or even zigzag style?

just love your template anyways. :)

have a good one!

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest and kind words!

I’m afraid Hickory doesn’t have a list layout like you described. If it was very important to you, though, a freelancer could customize it to have such a layout. Envato Studio (http://studio.envato.com) has a big directory of freelancers for hire.

Cheers!

Hi there, Recenly i have visual composer plugin, is this theme working perfect with VC?

Hi there,

I’m afraid we haven’t tested Hickory with the VC plugin, so we’re unfortunately not able to guarantee 100% compatibility.

Cheers!

for some reason when I made a post with video, the video does not show on the home page of my blog, only once I click on the post and am redirected to the full page. can you help me get my post’s videos to appear on the home page? thanks!

Hi there,

I’ve replied to your other comment :-)

(sorry, this is my correct account that I used to pay for the theme) for some reason when I made a post with video, the video does not show on the home page of my blog, only once I click on the post and am redirected to the full page. can you help me get my post’s videos to appear on the home page? thanks!

Hi there,

Thank you for that.

1 ) I’ve taken a look at your header but I’m not seeing any error messages showing. If you’re seeing the Custom CSS code we provided earlier, it may be that you’ve inserted it into the theme file instead of the Custom CSS box? You’ll want to ensure that the code you noted is placed within Appearance > Hickory Options > Custom CSS.

2 ) For your videos, the homepage thumbnail won’t pull in the video as the featured image. Instead, it will display a featured image with the video icon over it. The video will then be displayed in full on the post’s singular page.

For example, you can visit Hickory’s demo page http://solopine.com/hickory and take a look at the example post on the homepage titled “A full-width video post”. You can see that it has a featured image with the little “play” icon over it. When you click the post on the homepage, you’re then taken to the actual video on the singular page.

You’ll want to ensure you’ve assigned a featured image to your video post format so that the image can be pulled in on your homepage.

3 ) I also noticed that your main menu is quite full at the moment. This may lead to the social icons being pushed down from the container. If you notice this happening, I would recommend considering creating more parent menu items which you could then “nest” menu items within (to free up more menu space).

Cheers!

Hi! here s what im seeing from my end:

Another queston please. I need to put a banner between the posts feed at the homepage. Can i do that with the homepage widget that is installed within the theme or can you suggest me a solution how can i do that? Thank you very much for advance…

Hi there,

Are you speaking of adding banners like advertisements in between posts on the homepage? If so, you could use the widgetized homepage option and use either a Text widget or a the Hickory: Homepage Ad widget to place in between the posts.

If you have any questions about this, or any other theme-related questions in the future, please head over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new support ticket. It’s a way for us to validate purchase which is important to us.

I can’t setting Full Width Page on my website because I won’t sidebar and I want to setting like this http://themeforest.net/item/hickory-a-wordpress-magazine-theme/full_screen_preview/5437524 you can help me please

Hi there,

If you’d like to have your homepage appear full-width like the demo example link, you can navigate to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Hickory Options > Homepage Options > and for “Homepage Sidebar”, set this to be “Off”. Please save changes when finished.

This will remove the sidebar and have your homepage display full-width.

Otherwise, were you perhaps hoping to have the sidebar enabled on the homepage but also have the full-width content as well? If so, this would require expanding the theme’s container to accommodate both the full-width layout + the sidebar. It is possible, though I’m afraid it would require quite a bit of customization beyond what we can assist with.

If you have any other theme-related questions, please head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new support ticket. We’d be happy to assist :-)

Cheers!

HI, I am interested to buy your theme. Can i adjust the font size using the theme option?

I see there are 4 post types. My current wp theme has only regular post type, but most contents are reviews, can i convert the regular post type into a review type post?

Your screenshot of Theme Option is too small, where can i see the full screenshot of the theme option?

Thanks

Hi there,

1 ) While you can change theme fonts via the theme options section, there unfortunately isn’t a way to change font-size. However this is quite easy to do with some Custom CSS. If you decide to go with Hickory and would like help changing various font sizes, you’re very welcome to let us know and we can provide the necessary code.

2 ) You can certainly change regular/standard post times into Hickory’s “Review” post time. Though please note you’ll need to edit each post you’d like to convert, change the post type, add the extra review details, and update the post.

3 ) Here’s a larger screenshot of the main Theme Options page :-)

Hi there,

Great! If you could head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com , open up a ticket, and let us know which text elements you’d like to change the font size of, we’d be happy to provide the necessary CSS.

Cheers!

I purchased this theme in October of 2013 and am just now getting around to using it. However, I’m unable to update the theme because I can’t access my account I used to purchase the theme.

I would be happy to email my receipt as proof of purchase.

Please advise on how to update. Thank you!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!

I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Envato/ThemeForest and asking them about what’s occurring with your old account. We unfortunately don’t have the ability to assist with ThemeForest logins or account issues.

You can open up a new support ticket with Envato here: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=37840

Cheers!

Hi there,

There was an issue with Vimeo’s video IDs returning a similar error message, but this was remedied in the last Hickory update :-)

Can you please make sure you’re running the most recent version of Hickory? For steps on how to update, you can check out this article: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/2795/

If you find you’re still experiencing the issue, though, please feel free to head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new support ticket. We’d be happy to help!
