I love the look of the theme but am having a few issues with it and could really use some help.
1. I cannot get my footer widgets to go in 4 columns – they only line up in one column, even when I add multiple Widgets to the Footer Sidebar widget I created.
2. Latest tweets isn’t working – I enter my account name “competeeveryday” (handle is @competeeveryday) but nothing will load.
3. I am also having issues on my blog page of the preview/featured image showing up. I get a small box that says “News Item Image” in the location of where the set Featured image should be.
4. Finally, my blog page (http://competeeveryday.com/blog) will only allow me to make it full-width, instead of like the demo where you can have a sidebar.
5. I also was curious if we had the option to showcase latest blog posts like the portfolio items (with a thumb image and link to the post) instead of the text-only listing
Thank you for the quick turnaround and help with these issues!
Thanks for purchasing my theme! Let’s help you tackle these issues
- Your latest Tweets aren’t showing because the jQuery plugin for loading and showing the tweets hasn’t been loaded up yet when the function gets called in your footer.
I have also found out why this is happening. Every required script is being loaded after the content (header, body, footer), while this is not supposed to happen, they should be loaded up in the header.
I noticed you’re using a Facebook plugin on every page. This is what might be causing the strange behavior. Try taking it out. Otherwise, have you made any changes to the theme template files?
- The aforementioned script loading problem is also the cause for breaking your footer and sliders.
- For the blog, don’t forget to use the Blog page template. You can select it in the dropdown under Template in the sidebar when creating your page.
- There is currently no option to show blog posts like this, however I think it’s a nice idea and I will be adding it in the next update!
Thanks for the turn around. I disabled all of the plugins and view the site. Still the same issues.
1. Slider not working
2. Blog page is set to “Blog Page” but not allowing for a sidebar
3. Images not showing.
Please help. Let me know if you need access to the admin panel
The issues have now been resolved.
For the issues with script loading, the problem was on my part, sorry about that. It seems some old files got mixed in the upload. I have no idea how this was possible.
As for the blog, you don’t have the set the Posts page under Settings -> reading.
I’ve now installed the correct version on your end, enjoy!
For any other buyers, please make sure you download the latest zip file
Thanks for the help, awesome customer service! And yes, totally consider the front page blog posts (like portfolio) for the next edition. I’m manually doing it right now but think it’d be an easy addition for sharp image/blog posts.
You are very welcome, glad we got it all sorted out!
I also cannot get any of the homepage sliders to work. The image is uploaded properly but none will work.
Hi, Thanks for this great theme.
One issue: looked through all folders in zip file and can not fine any PSD files. Where are they located?
you’re welcome, thanks for purchasing!
The PSD ’s should be included and can be found in the ‘Design’ folder.
Thank i found then in your latest archive.
Next issue, i see others are experiencing also is the wordpress message:
“No Sidebars Defined”
What am i missing?
Got it. You need to create at least on sidebar in theme option page.
The widget are not work.
What can I do for this problem?
The FEATURES are not working. Not working in the html and not working on whysing.
The Sidebar not work, can you help me please? What can I do for this problem? I’ve been busy all day to solve this problem, but it does not. I do not know what I’m doing wrong. I have created sidebars. Tried everything. But it does not work.
sorry for the inconvenience! Read your message a while ago and we did indeed find a small bug with the sidebars.
This is fixed now, however, we’re still waiting for the updated version to go through.
If you really can’t wait any longer, please send us a message using the contact form with your wp-admin login details, and we’ll install the updated version for you.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Version 1.1 is now available!
This version fixes a couple of bugs and contains some changes to the CSS and JS.
Updating is recommended!
I’ve download new version today – Wordpress see it as v1.2. But sidebar/widget are not working.
Please help. Shaun
could you please be more specific, what exactly isn’t working?
Did you follow every step for creating the sidebar/widgets?
- Create new sidebar in Theme Options and Save.
- Populate the sidebar in Widgets.
- Create a page which supports a sidebar, and select it.
Thank you, Fixed.
Left sidebar works. But I can not find the right sidebar? The left sidebar picks it automatically. How can I set right sidebar?
To use the right sidebar, pick the Default Template for your page. Save the page and select the sidebar you want.
I’m popultaed the theme with your demo data, but all I’m getting is this: http://www.visionvid.co.uk/wp
The front page indeed seems a bit.. empty.
Strange, the XML data should do it’s job. Maybe there’s a conflict with existing data?
Have you setup the Front Page and Posts Page correctly under Reading Settings? This might have something to do with it. Front Page should be set to Home, but you can leave Posts Page blank. If you want to create a blog, just create a new page and pick the Blog Page Template.
I really like this theme but I was wondering if you can use it on a Multi Site set up!
I honestly don’t know, haven’t tried it!
But I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work.
You could always try it out, and if it doesn’t work for some reason, I’ll be here to help you out.
If I select a page a default page, I get the sidebar left. You can also choose subpage left sidebar, I get the sidebar also left. But how do I get the right sidebar?
If I select the contact page, than it does the right sidebar. Not in a another page. Mij mail adres is. firstname.lastname@example.org can you email me? Than can I mail you with the admin data
The problem is solved! Really great! 66themes is very helpful and answered your questions quickly and well! Compliments!
You’re welcome, glad we got it sorted out!
I am having issues on the portfolio page, I only have one portfolio item created but it looks like in is displaying a new page for every post, even if content does not exist.
You can view the page here…. http://hk.mikemcbrien.com/projects/
Please let me know if you need admin credentials. me at mikemcbrien dot com.
I followed the instructions but it doesn’t seem to be working it also says that some parts failed to import.
I just wanted to make sure I imported the right file.
if you send me a message using the contact form on my profile page, I will send you a fresh demo data XML .
I’m sorry but I could not find find a contact form.
You can find the contact form at the bottom of the sidebar: http://themeforest.net/user/66Themes
66Themes….beautiful theme. Have a question though.
I have created a child theme and in my child theme I am trying to change the font size for the general typography and I’m having issues.
I tried my change in the parent theme style.css and the change took effect, but when I transfered the code to my child theme, the changes do not take affect? Any clue what I did wrong? Here is what I added to the child theme’s style.css
/* Body /
font-family: ‘Cabin’, sans-serif;
background: #e7e7e7 url(‘img/backgrounds/bg-page-noise.jpg’);
margin: 0 !important;
Also, I should note that I tried this with the
/ Body */
section of the code added and with it removed and had no luck either way.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.
Also, do you have a support forum or is this the best place to get support from ya?
just a heads up, it seems that none of my child theme style changes are taking affect….any clues why this would be? Thanks in advance for your help.
I’m not sure why the style changes aren’t taking effect, could have several causes. Maybe the child themes are still using the stylesheet from the parent theme.
Did you follow the instructions for creating the child theme’s style.css file here?: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
You could also try using the Custom CSS option in Theme Options.
I currently manage all support using both the comment system and via e-mail. I’m just starting out, so it’s still maintainable this way.
Let me know how it works out!
Yes, I follow those rules as standard practice when creating child themes. The child theme is selected in wp-admin >> themes also. I can’t figure out why it won’t work. Should I email you through your Envato profile so you can respond and I can shoot you wp-admin access via email? Let me know what you would like to do.
Sounds like a solid plan, I’ll be awaiting your e-mail with login details and we’ll sort it out!
For sidebar, i’ve problem too.
I create a new sidebar in theme-option, in save but i can’t find this in Widgets
Thanks for help.
as described in the documentation you need to create a sidebar called Footer Sidebar in Theme Options. After creating the sidebar you can populate it under Widgets which will be displayed in the footer.
For the creation of sidebars: please make sure that after entering a name for the sidebar, you click Add new sidebar. Then, click Save Options and wait for the confirmation.
If you’re still having troubles with it, just shoot me an e-mail.
It’s ok, i’m sorry, i misread ^^‘
