One suggestion: we could have the option to select which category or categories I “don’t want to display” in the “latest posts” or “featured posts”

As I mentioned in my earlier comment the theme is good. But it can be substantially improved.
Of course there are a lot missing. Just look at the other big themes and you would know. You probably know already.
It will take forever to mention features, feature updates never end.
The concept is: the less you need external plugins to implement features that you need, the better the theme is.
I am not going to mention major features here, although you are missing the biggest one( page builder, you only have blog listing for front page). You can easily see the big features in other themes(The posts block cant be divided, one block and nothing can be inserted in-between.
To name just a few examples of minor features, issues and improvements :
1- Typography control is really trivial. For example, there are no separate option to change the font settings for excerpt and paragraphs. This is one example only.
2- Last updated: Last updated logic is bad. If you update any post even if its a spelling mistake correction. the post becomes at the first one in the listing!!!. Also there is no “last updated” label inside the post.
3- Social media icon options are very basic. for example, only three positions to place, for example you cant place them on post side. I had to disable your social media plugin and purchase a new one.
4- No table of content. I am using a separate plugin for this.
5- No inline related post option
Don’t have time to keep writing more . But you can make a serious review and make updates if you are serious about it.

Yeah sure. If you wanted to do more features you would have already done, look at your updates since you launched 2 and a half years ago, it’s a joke.
Anyway, your next updates will show if you are just wasting ppl’s money or not. Until then I warn others to think and review this company’s update record before buying their themes. If I don’t see more seriousness I will continue to warn people in this comment section in the near future.
I mean 3 and half years ago. Almost 4 years with almost no new features!

I am using the theme so I don’t want a refund. I didn’t say the theme is bad(although there are some bad things about it). I said you should provide at least some updates.
“We don’t like to pack themes with unnecessary features and code that only 1% of our theme users will use.”. This is not an excuse, to not provide at least some new features or updates. As if your theme doesn’t have at least some glitches, who would believe this. Look at your changelog for the past 3 years, the least I can say about it is unacceptable.!

Hello, we run a magazine website and we like this theme for our magazine. Quick sales question – Is it possible to convert the “Featured Posts” slider on the homepage to only image slider? We would like to showcase our magazine archive (back issues of the magazine) on the homepage using this featured slider.

My suggestion is to use some short code slider and add it as a gallery to a homepage since the sliders in our theme are dedicated to sliding posts only.

The theme is awesome but support is really awful. Presets have not been been working for sometime regardless of how much I try, it is alway stuck to the latest preset. I have submitted multiple support requests with no answer

Please check if the comments have been disabled under Settings > Discussion > Default post settings > Allow people to submit comments on new posts – this is where you globally enable and disable comments.
The other way to disable comments is on individual posts. Open a blog post in edit mode and in the right-hand sidebar check under Discussion > Allow comments
If none of these methods are successful it may be that some plugin is causing the unwanted behaviour.

You’re able to choose a particular sidebar, or turn off the sidebar on each individual post, or you can do that globally, for all posts at once, inside Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Single post settings.

as per all of my mek themes the slider counter info appears in the top left corner … i just noticed that something strange is happening … the counter has reappeared but it is not holding … the counter holds and then disappears ….

Hi, wp 5.8 comes with solid changes in the widget area (Gutenberg blocks). Will Johannes be ready for upcoming new wp version?
And another one: I can’t understand that this theme has no option for the post to post navigation (next and before) in single posts. May be you can add this in an upcoming update, please?

Regarding post-to-post navigation – This kind of feedback is already passed to our product team, and they will surely review it and possibly add this feature in one of the next updates. However, as a support specialist, I don’t have the in-front information about the updates and features they contain.
Currently, we’re trying to make sure that everything goes smoothly with WP 5.8.
Please also note that we’re providing the test drive before the purchase and that we’re not advertising this feature as part of our theme demo.

We’re sorry about the response time. We have a little shortage currently because one of our colleagues had an accident.
The welcome area is a section that works on its own principle and has its own purpose. That doesn’t mean you can’t use the slider instead of the Welcome area.
As you can see in our documentation, you can use the Custom Content section, and you can create multiple Custom Content sections. It accepts any HTML shortcode, and you can pull other pages content with it, so you can easily mix our front page sections with some page builder content on your front page. Please read this article from our documentation:
https://mekshq.com/docs/johannes-adding-custom-content/You can also drag and drop the Custom Content sections on the top of your front page and disable your Welcome Area if you don’t want to use it in Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > General.
So, my suggestion would be to do the following:
Create a slider with this plugin here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-slider-3/It is a free plugin with a lot of slider features. You can create really nice sliders with it. After that, you can place the slider shortcode inside the custom content area and drag and drop it on the top of your page. It could look really nice.
Please note, though, that we’re providing support for our product, as it is. We can always help you with the product features, and you can always ask us to improve some of our sections in one of our next updates. We can forward your message as feedback to our product team, and they will surely consider it, but implementing that kind of new possibilities to a section is not really in our support scope, and it can’t be done instantly. We’re not advertising slider in the Welcome Area section in our demo – it is serving as some sort of a hero section with some call to action features.

Hey guys! I’m trying to use the polylang plugin (for multi-language sites), but the theme currently doesn’t allow the homepage settings to work in different languages (the texts and links). Are there any plans to integrate the theme to this plugin to allow configuring the homepage in different languages?

The theme allows multilingual settings on the front page, but you need to disable your Translation panel in Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Translation. Once you do that, you’ll manage all translations with your multilingual plugin.
My personal recommendation would be to go with TranslatePress, but Polylang should work fine as well.

Third time I buy this theme (one personal, one for work and one for a “not for profit” organization !). Totally love it 2 quick questions : where do I adjust mobile header height? (if not possible, code would be welcome, thanks in advance) Is there a way to replace mobile header by the sticky bar ? I really like the sticky bar in mobile mode, if it could start as the mobile menu, and then turn into a mobile sticky bar when the page is scrolled, it would be perfect.
